About
The atmosphere on Lopud Island is peaceful and relaxing, in part due to absence of cars on the island. Grab yourself a buggy taxi to the Sunj sand beach, or opt for a scenic half an hour walk. Relax in a hammock sipping on a cocktail, before checking out the restaurants, bakeries, and souvenir shops along the promenade. Lopud Island is often visited as part of a three-island tour, or as a day trip via ferry from Dubrovnik. For the best weather, time your visit between June and September. – Tripadvisor

    Sandy beach
Stayed 3 hours as part of an island tour and took the golf buggy taxi from the port to the Sandy beach as short of time , would have taken about 29 mins to walk and was €3 per person each way . The sunbed was offered free by the guy on the beach if we bought drinks so we did (€32 for 4 ) and spent a couple hours there relaxing and watching the many small boats drop off their passengers in the sea with varying success of them getting to the sand without a soaking . There are toilets and changing areas also the swing in the sea to take fun photos .

    Forget Lokrum, go here instead!
Beautiful island, forget the expensive trip to Lokrum island and go here instead on the local ferry for a fraction of the price. Gorgeous beaches, a bustling esplanade, and lots of places to eat, some more expensive than others. Nice walks around the wooded interior with amazing views, and you can visit Sunj beach (very crowded and noisy) if that's your thing. We spent a week on the island and didn't want to leave!

    A wonderful island
This island was amazing, end of season stay and clearly a year round quiet spot- except midday when the passing boats stop off! If you want a relaxing break on a beautiful island you can't go wrong. Ljubos' cocktails @ glauouic (a rustic hotel by the small beach) are the best on the island but you'd easily miss its a bar. Croatia is expensive and lopud is no exception but we found konoba riva a good restaurant, the ferry is good value to get you there for a day trip from dubrovinik and the people are very welcoming!

    Stunning island
Visited here as part of the three islands cruise. We had about 3 hours on this island and it wasn’t nearly long enough. When we arrived we paid for a golf buggy trip down to the beach, which was an adventure in itself. They are petrol ones and went pretty fast. We had an amazing few hours at the stunning beach before heading back to explore the harbour area. It is absolutely beautiful. I wished we had more time, but I loved every min of it.

    Lovely Lopud.
We loved visiting Lopud Island and spent a day relaxing and taking in the atmosphere. It was sad to see the old "Grand Hotel" basically damaged and unused for over 30 years. It must have been a fantastic place to stay here before the conflict war of 1991. It is a vast building with superb grounds and we walked past it on our way to Sunj Beach. The trip for Gruz harbour to Lopud takes approximately 1 hour as it makes one other island stop off on the way. There are so many bars/eating areas and the island itself is steeped in history and culture. I would say certainly visit during your breakaway.

Amazing island with clear water, beautiful houses and nature. There are many restaurants and few shops. The best beach is Sunj beach - lovely staff!

Beautiful island, 30 mins walk to the beach so took a golf buggy (when finally found them 250m behind the main promenade). Ok journey on the way there but miserable driver on the way back who refused to bring us back until the buggy was full - 8 passengers !! Be careful as you will have to wait for other passengers before they bring you back and you may miss your boat / ferry if you cut it fine. Seems a scam to me and some of the drivers are friendly and others are definitely not !

My wife and I visited this remote island recently and thought it beautiful. Great to get away from the crowds in Dubrovnik old town and a really pretty place.

We spent a lovely day on Lopud. Buy a bus ticket to Gruz from the bus stop outside Pile gate, bus 1B at 9.00. There's a ticket kiosk there. We caught the 10.00 ferry from Gruz. At Lopud, alk along the front and follow signs to Sunj beach. It's about a 30 minute walk. The beach is very shallow, so very safe for young kids, and there's free sunloungers if you buy food and drink from the beach front bar. The walk was very pleasant, but you can hire a golf buggy taxi.
