On our first night we thought the bus driver from the shuttle service was kidding S when he pointed abruptly to the draw bridge of the pile gate. The steps & ramps that lead into the narrow walk way were considerably quieter that night then...More

This entrance to the old city leads, via a drawbridge, down onto the Stradun. There is a figure of Dubrovnik's patron saint St Blaise above the gate. It is extremely crowded with tourists going back and fore. Also look out for cats congregating here!

Not sure why this is a separate attraction, but it is the main entry gate to the old town city wall. It is a striking part of the wall. Most taxis and busses will drop you off here. The ancient city and the wall walk...More

Portal back in time to how things used to be. Nice looking entrance to an excellent city. We stayed within the city walls so was the first place we saw.

Really nice way to enter the old town but can be very busy at times. You walk across a bridge and then through the gate and down the stairs and it opens up into the city. Lovely.

This is the entrance to the old town and leads you into the old town. A lot of tours pick up in front of this.

Imposing entrance to the walled town. Flagstones worn so smooth with the footwear of millions of tourists.

Hi, I just checked my photo uploads, the majority are taken from ground level at the harbour side. The best views, in my opinion are from the top of the adjacent hill - access by cable car, or (as we did), a taxi tour.
