We stayed here for 2 nights in June 2016 as we wanted a break from Dubrovinik. If we had our time over we would have spent a whole week here and skipped Dubrovnik all together! Mljet was a very chilled, authentic experience away from the hustle and bustle of mass tourism. We stayed in a basic but very welcoming apartment... More

We took a bike and yacht trip, stopping at a number of islands off the coast of Croatia. Mljet stood out because we rode along the lake where there is a monastery on a separate island in the lake. The ride was easy and quiet, with many beautiful views. There is also a boat taxi that will take you to... More

Mljet is a place to visit to relax after crowded and noisy Dubrovnik. Northern part of island is national park and make sure to visit it. Most prominent feature are Mljet "lakes" (actually they are 2 bays with salty water), and little island of st. Maria. Place is very peaceful and serene. Most popular activities you can do are hiking,... More

Feel all of the stress and strain of your life melt away in the beautiful scenery and blue waters. We went in summer and it was stunning. If you can get access to a charter travel by water and don't forget the water toys. Painting, photography, relaxing...it inspires creativity.

it was pretty but not much to do.. i do not recommend staying in Polace if you want any form of life. I think further south is a bit more lively, but all in all we wish we had not stayed in Mljet but had gone on to Dubrovnik and spent more time there

We spent half a day on the island and could have easily spent more time. We started the day by hiking around the various sites and ended up on the warm rocks of the southern coast of Mljet, swimming in the beautiful water and drying on the sunny rocks. We then rented kayaks from a great outfit and paddled around... More

One of the best places we did on our Croatia trip was Mjlet island. Its a 1.5 hr fairy ride from Dubrovnik and simply beautiful. Part of the island is a national park which has beautiful lakes. There are many activities like walking trails, cycling, swimming, scuba that you can do or just relax take in the breath-taking views that... More

Approximately and hour and a half ferry ride from Dubrovnick this beautiful island has stunning scenery and crystal clear waters. For a small island there is plenty to do for those wanting cycling, trecking/walking (not too steep for travel weary tourists), canoeing/kayaking, swimming and simply sitting on the portside enjoying a delicious meal. Here you can also visit St Mary's... More
