We went to the city walls yesterday and I am still disturbed by the high price we had to pay: 650 Kuna (88 EUR) for a family of 5 (youngest 15 yr; twin just turned 18).

It's probably best to walk the walls in the early morning or late in the day (as we did) since it's very hot and feels like it's all uphill. Fortunately there are several food/drink stops along the way to refresh and revive.

you can get on and off at multiple areas, steep steps at some parts but theyre optional. There is a nice bar on the east side ( sea facing) for a nice beer or fruit juice...More
Fantastic way to see the old town. Would recommend you get there for an early start (opens at 8) as it is a little cooler and you miss the crowds.

A must if your in the old city. Go early because it is not so hot and the crowd is less. We started at 8.30 am and didn’t finished until about 2 hours later. Hubby is a keen photographer so he took heaps of pictures....More

It took us about 1.5 hours to do the whole walls. We started at the pile gate - check which side is closer to your drop off - but there are starting points all along the walls. We watched people kayaking and wished we had... More

Plitvica lakes which is full of ice and frozen .....unique experience. The towns and cities are nice in winter as well. Areasnear the sea are not that cold.
