It's probably best to walk the walls in the early morning or late in the day (as we did) since it's very hot and feels like it's all uphill. Fortunately there are several food/drink stops along the way to refresh and revive.

Fantastic way to see the old town. Would recommend you get there for an early start (opens at 8) as it is a little cooler and you miss the crowds. Is still warm enough by the time you finish as there are plenty of steps...More

A must if your in the old city. Go early because it is not so hot and the crowd is less. We started at 8.30 am and didn’t finished until about 2 hours later. Hubby is a keen photographer so he took heaps of pictures....More

you can enjoy the main attractions like Plitvica lakes which is full of ice and frozen .....unique experience. The towns and cities are nice in winter as well. Areasnear the sea are not that cold. enjoy
