Yes, there are steps to climb. Once you get up, there are beautiful views of the fortresses, Stradun/main street and harbor area. Best to get a Dubrovnik card which includes transportation, city walls, museums and art galleries.

This is the best attraction in my opinion. Totally stunning. Takes about 1.5 hours. There is a bar / coffee shop on the wall which is lovely to sit for a while But be warned. Complete before 0930. All the cruise ship buses arrive around this time and it's just over crowded and awful when that happens ! Wonderful place

Good city walk, lots of interesting little side streets to get lost in and spend time exploring. Very safe, cobble stone streets, there is a reason its number one spot

Of the many city walls I have climbed, these ones in Dubrovnik would be the best! My husband and I were here in the off season of mid November 2016, so we were able to enjoy the whole walk without any jostling as at times we were the only ones walking around some parts. In total we only saw about... More

All the stairs can be intimidating but it's well worth it! The views from every nook and corner is amazing. I would do it again in a heartbeat.

The history of the walled city is overwelling when you consider some of the history is within my lifetime, which is documented on some of the walls and the roofs replaced from the bombing. The ability of those who built this city and it walls all those centuries ago and it still functions as a living community and tourist spot.... More
