The island of Lokrum is a short ferry ride from Dubrovnik town center. There are some old ruins on the island and a few beach areas and places to swim. There are not a lot of amenities or food sources so take a lunch with...More

The Island is really nice on it's own but during the hot summer seasons it is really crowded and it's really hard to find a good spot for swimming. Especially if you have small kids as the coastline is mostly hard rocks. The roaming peacocks...More

Despite the modest size of the island, I think this place will be interesting to everyone - from young to old. We traveled to the island very comfortably, on a boat from the pier in Mlini, not far from our apartments. The first thing that...More

I fell for Lokrum! It offers you a unique day in nature, an escape from the crowded and hot Dubrovnik old town. Be sure to take some snacks, a blanket and a swimsuit and you may find yourself swimming in the perfect turquoise water. Lokrum...More

Enjoy a few hours walking around this small island. Although no children in outr travelling party, children certainly seemed to be enjoying their visit - swimming in the natural pool and seeing the rabbits in the park area. If a Game of Trones fan you...More

The ferry can be crowded in the morning so get there early to buy tickets and make the ferry. You can easily hike anywhere on the island, explore the fort and monastery, see Game of Thrones, throne, eat and swim. I did all these on...More

This island is super cool as it has hundreds of bunnies and peacocks walking around the place which are friendly. Also some good cafes for coffee, easy to get too and easy to get back. Do it!

It's an excellent day trip destination with a short boat ride from Dubrovnik. There are many peacocks and wild rabbits roaming on the island which make you feel very close to nature. The views from the shores are excellent. I imagine you could spend at...More

Yes there are places to eat or get snacks eg at the old monastery. You will probably spend 2-3 hours there. You can buy tickets at the old port where the ferry leaves from.

I’m sorry that I really don’t have an answer to that. My guess is that, if there isn’t regular ferry transportation at that time, you could still find someone at the port to take you over in a boat. It’s not far; maybe a... More

As others have said, about 4 hours should cover everything. It is well worth visiting. Plenty to see and do. A beautiful place. The views over Dubrovnik from the top - quite a climb - are spectacular.
