Its just an island, parks and all - nothing special. The thing that stood out for me was the peacocks, so many of them - they aren't scared of you too !

Unless you want to go to the beach and lay down and enjoy the place the island is not that great. If you have some spare time go otherwise you can skip it. The restaurant is really good on salads

....but also to walk and admire the views. Lovely walks amid the woods and peacocks. The south end of the island is a good picnic area and the north is more hilly leading up to the fort. Cafe bar near the little port is good value and a very pleasant surrounding, just a shame that we didn't have more time... More

If you can make it to the top Fort Royal then a spectacular view awaits. Birds, rabbits and peacocks posing for pictures... There is even a nudist beach... Fancy steep pathways then that's the place at 120 kunas per head from the old city.

About an hour by boat from Dubrovnik, this island is a little gem. There is an old monastery at the start of the village. Unfortunately renovation work was taking place at the time of our visit so we didn't manage to get in. There are lots of little restaurants and bars lining the waterfront as well as small shops and... More

OK - we were attracted to Lokrum because of the Game of Thrones settings here. This is a "walking" island. The history of the island is fascinating. The paths are inviting - don't miss the hike to Point Royal - the fort on the edge of the island. We were also enthralled by a display (in the fortress) documenting Richard... More

Get the ferry to Lokrum from the old harbour in the walled town the return fare was 100 Kuna each. Fabulous island to explore nice varied countryside, trees rocky coast, got gardens and a number of good facilities including cafes and restaurants all very reasonably priced. As others have said there are many rabbits and peacocks on the island we... More

Don't be put off by the price of the ferry to this island, which we translated to be almost 14 pounds per person which is for a very short journey. The island is amazing with its beautiful views and monasteries and the adorable wildlife, the very friendly peacocks and Bunnies brought out my inner child. and don't forget swimwear like... More
