The island of Lokrum is a short ferry ride from Dubrovnik town center. There are some old ruins on the island and a few beach areas and places to swim. There are not a lot of amenities or food sources so take a lunch with...More
The Island is really nice on it's own but during the hot summer seasons it is really crowded and it's really hard to find a good spot for swimming. Especially if you have small kids as the coastline is mostly hard rocks. The roaming peacocks...More
Despite the modest size of the island, I think this place will be interesting to everyone - from young to old.
We traveled to the island very comfortably, on a boat from the pier in Mlini, not far from our apartments.

I’m sorry that I really don’t have an answer to that. My guess is that, if there isn’t regular ferry transportation at that time, you could still find someone at the port to take you over in a boat. It’s not far; maybe a 20-30 minute ferry ride, as I recall. But, of course, if there isn’t ferry service and you go out independently, other services would likely be closed. You could still enjoy picnicking, swimming, and snorkeling.
