During our travels, I am usually extremely hesitant in becoming part of a paid tour with a guide. However, Pero Kusalo totally dispelled any reservations I would normally have and earned every penny of the tour he gave us in Dubrovnik! We booked the Dubrovnik Best Seller Shore Excursion tour with Doria Ltd. His knowledge of history, culture, and Croatia’s customs was absolutely phenomenal and without equal! I would highly recommend touring Dubrovnik with Pero Kusalo as your Guide. You will not regret it! In fact, you will cherish the tour and what you saw and learned from Pero!

Tour exceeded our expectations. Miho and Ivan were phenomenal.
Miho went out of his way for us. Both Miho and Ivan have a detailed knowledge
of the area, and above all the greatest
sense of humour.
Take this tour!!! You won’t be disappointed! We loved every minute!!

We thought we had reserved the small group tour but found out it was a private tour which was more expensive. We were picked up on time by a nice gentleman who drove us around the countryside and to the top of a hill to overlook the city and the coast. He then drove us to Cavat which was very disappointing. Since we had left so early (8:30), nothing was open in the city. He did not seem to be familiar with the city either. We parked, walked along the inlet to an old church and then to a cafe where we had coffee and left after 20 minutes. No city tour there. We drove to old town Dubrovnick where we met another guide, He was knowledgeable but not too enthusiastic. We walked for about 2 hours before we asked him to stop so we could rest and have something to eat. He showed us where to pick up a return shuttle and left at that point which was fine. We talked with our friends who went on the included Viking tour and they did as much or more for no money. Not worth it.

Dear Sandra, Thank you for your review! I will respond to address a few issues. First of all, you made a booking of our private tour on Viator and you paid it to Viator in full, meaning you agreed on the price. The price of a private tour is, of course, higher than booking your spot in 18 seater minibus, but it is really not our fault here. If you booked a private tour and ended up being part of a small group tour, that is a valid reason to object, but objecting to us that you booked a private tour (and the private tour you got) and then realizing it is more expensive than group tours just does not make sense. We have a very open cancellation policy, and you could have just canceled our tour up to 24 hours before the tour and booked some other group tour with another agency, and there would not be any problem, and you would get a 100% refund on our tour! As for the guides on the tour. The first driver guide-Zeljko is our most experienced colleague who just retired from a decade of Work on Hilton's front office. He was our Homeland War veteran, he has his own olive trees and makes his olive oil and his daughter in law is from Cavtat. So to say that he did not take you through Cavtat and that he was not informative sounds very strange to us! Your port pickup was at 08:30, and you could not have been in Cavtat before 09:30 AM. Everything in Cavtat was open, in Croatia, everything opens at 08:00 am -All the souvenir shops were open, all the cafe bars and bakeries were open, and all places serving breakfast were open. Cavtat is a small town with 3000 people inhabitants, so it does not have big shopping malls, but all the stores were open! You say that you walked with Zeljko through the promenade, you visited the church of Our Lady of the Snow and you sat for coffee for 20 min, That is already at least 50 min. It takes 30 min to Cavtat and 30 min back plus 20 min on a hill for great panoramic views of the city plus 2 hours tour of the Old Town of Dubrovnik, which is already at least 4 hours and 10 min and our tour lasts 4-4,5 hours. After the city tour, we give normally our guests one-hour of free time and then take them back to the ship, but your ship had a free shuttle back to the port from the center and you decided to stay longer so that is why you agreed with our guide Pero to stay in the city and end the tour day (you said yourself it was fine). And Dubrovnik CIty Guide Pero cannot be more energetic than he is. He is actually a new addition to the team, but since I am a guide myself and do city tours, I was listening to him doing guiding tours and I love how he does it, immersing his guests in history and our everyday life stories, and that is why we were glad to be able to have him as one of our team members for this season. He is a local guy from Dubrovnik, a licensed guide, and even writes questions for local pub quizzes. All this said, I can just say that i am very sorry that tour did not meet your expectations since we are really trying hard to do whatever we can to make our guests feel like at home and to bring back home great memories from our tour, but at the end, I think that more disappointment from your side came from the fact that you realized that you would have been ok even with free group tour organized by your ship and not pay private tour done in the similar itinerary, but unfortunately, we cannot do anything about it! We wish you a pleasant rest of your vacation and hopefully, we will see each other back in the future, perhaps on one of our group tours! All the best Ivo

We had a fantastic time with Miho from Doria Tours. We were picked up at our AirBNB in Dubrovnik and taken to an oyster farm in Peljesac where we met Mario, a local oyster farmer. He showed us how oysters had been farmed there for centuries and served us oysters straight out of the water with some local wine. We then had an amazing visit to a nearby winery, tasting several types of grappa and 6-7 great wines (red and white). The tour guide was very friendly and generous with his time and knowledge. Finally, we visited the city of Ston, encircled by the second longest wall in the world (2nd only to the great wall of China), before we were brought back to our place. Throughout the tour Miho was a pleasure to be with - sharing tons of information about Dubrovnik and Croatian history and society. He went out of his way to take care of us, even pulling one of his daughter's vests from his trunk when my daughter was cold. I would highly recommend this tour and guarantee that you will not be disappointed.

We went to Sarajevo, Mostar and Medjugorje. Booking the tour was easy- inquiries were replied to very quickly and never did we feel that we were being pushed into booking the tour. Miho Budman our guide was THE BEST! We had the best conversations about culture, current events, history, faith, family and what-nots. Food was 3 thumbs up- we had local coffee and local meatballs. He even took the extra mile to get me a pendant that I missed buying in Sarajevo- he bought it for me the next time he went there and brought it to my hotel. We plan to come back and we definitely will travel with Doria Tours and Miho again!

We had originally booked this tour for the fall of 2020. When the pandemic hit we were given a refund of our deposit. It was only natural to book again when we planned a cruise on the Regal Princess to Dubrovnik.

We can't say enough about our guide Ivo. He met us on the dock and then had us wait while he left to bring the van around. As requested, he had a portable step to help my wife enter the van.

In Cavtat Ivo pointed us to the only restaurant that accepted euros (this won't be a problem come January when Croatia accepts the euro). He then waited while a couple did a bit of shopping.

When he couldn't find parking near the Old Town of Dubrovnik he dropped us near the entrance to the old town while he found parking. Parking was 160 steps up the mountainside. At the end of the tour he climbed those steps again to retrieve the van and then pick us up.

The tour starts with a drive from the port up the mountain to a panoramic lookout that the larger tour buses cannot drive. Along the way Ivo shares his expert knowledge of Croatia and its history. The lookout is a rocky area with a magnificent view of the old town. There is no prepared ground or guardrails.

We then drove through the mountains back to the coast. Before arriving in Cavtat Ivo took us to an abandoned area to show the damage left behind after the fighting in the 1990s. A leisurely walking tour of Cavtat to the Church of Our Lady of the Snows. It was mid November and many of the tourist based shops and restaurants were closed for the season. A quiet break for coffee and pastry at the cafe was preferred over time in Dubrovnik.

Our tour ended with a walk through Old Town Dubrovnik. Ivo took us down a side street to explain medieval life in the town and a fascinating story about children left at the orphanage.

Ivo is truly a professional guide who loves to share his knowledge of the area. He
answered all our questions and even talked about the upcoming World Cup where Canada was in the same group as Croatia. This tour certainly exceeded our expectations and was better than any cruise line shore excursion.

Stefan was a wonderful guide. So knowledgeable. We thoroughly enjoyed our tour. We had walked the walls in Dubrovnik on a prior trip. Our guide had no problem showing us other things in the city. Cavtat is a very pleasant place to visit. I especially liked the way Stefan talked us through various time periods to the present. I would recommend this tour.

This was the most wonderful tour. Stjepan provided me with a very professional experience, he has a wealth of information and is a wonderful driver. He was very considerate, allowed time for many questions and has a delightful personality. He showed me all that Dubrovnik Old Town has to offer, beautiful Cavtat and panoramic coastal countryside and views. Doria was easy to book on line from Australia. Stjepan collected me from the gangway of the ship and I was returned after an enjoyable day in plenty of time. Thank you Stjepan

This was a fantastic tour! It was one of the best tours we had. Ivo was an amazing tour guide. He was both friendly and very knowledgeable! We loved the private tour and it allowed us to be more flexible. I highly recommend this tour!

Our guide Ivo made it so interesting to visit the lovely Dubrovnik. He took us to places with the best views of the city and then introduced us to the city itself and it felt like a good History class, where you learn with pleasure and "in loco". Excellent experience!
