The Park Forest Marjan have plenty of perfect beaches, very calm, beautuful, with a rich pine forest. This time I've discovered a small rocky beach near the Institut of Oceanography and Fisheries. Marjan is a really excellent place for stay in Split, specially if you enjoy walking and appreciate sport activity and relaxing atmosphere.

We took a tram ride up here from the docks area. The ride up and down is pretty boring, but the views from this park down to the city are worth it. The tram stopped here for 15 minutes and the views were worth the ride.

We spent a large part of one sunny Saturday walking up to then through the Forest Marjan. The walking tracks are clearly market and take you past amazing flora and fauna, 15th Century churches, panoramic views plus a couple of more touristy options such as the Zoo and an aquarium. The area is unspoiled and beautiful. The views of Split... More

We walked up the south side of Marjan from the old town, which is on the eastern edge of Marjan (walk westwards along the harbour front and go up some obvious steps on a sharp bend). The nice bar can be found easily after a few minutes and is a good place to stop for lovely views and a cooling... More

Famous hill of Split. Not far away from Riva and Diocletian's palace is one beautifull and peacefull place. Ofcourse there is one of the best view's on Split, from the place called "Vidilica".

A charming park overlooking Split, the Adriatic and mountains in the distance. The entrance was tricky to find, just outside of the center of town is a small green sign at steps that leads the way. The views as you climb are amazing and there's a cafe mid way up to grab a beer (Pivo). The shade of the trees... More

It was a windy day but once we warmed up on our way up the stairs it was nice. More for people who are a bit more active. We went with my daughter, eleven years old, and my in laws who are in their sixties now. Father in law had to rest a bit going up the stairs but there... More

Ok for a stroll out of the town. A nice viewpoint. Spoilt slightly by thoughtless graffiti on stone work. Playground park at top if you have young kids. We walked up steps but I think there is a smooth path all the way. Not too strenuous.
