The City Clock is a fabulous piece of architecture. And as others have pointed out, it is a 24 hour clock in lieu of the traditional/common 12 hour clock. Once you make it to the top, you'll enjoy a super view of the city.

We were on vacation in Split and my other half wanted to climb the clock. Easy to locate and cheap to get in. Easy access and fun to visit. Many stairs to reach the top but easy to do. Great view of SPLIT from the top. I would strongly recommend to do if you are spending some time in Split.... More

The square is worth a visit, the 24 hour clock is interesting and different. I didn't notice it at first or appreciate its difference. Nice area with some nice cafes around.

On People's Square, the clock tower is unique in that has 24 and not 12 Roman numerals surrounding what appears to be an old sundial.

Some sources say the clock is 14thC others 13thC and still others 15thC. I will ask the “dean” of history here for a more exact date! There is no real “bell” in the clock. I think it is a single gong on the hour. There is a bell in the tower near the clock, and it to rings just on... More

Located in the old town overlooking a square which is surrounded by restaurants and cafes, this is just one of the many sights to see in old town Split.

Right by the Iron Gate this clock is a 24 hour piece, something you don't see very often anywhere, especially in a medevial situation.
