The Fish Market is located in the city center, close to the port. Everyone can find it easily due to the fish odor. Everything is fresh, if you visit around noon, before the closing, then the prices are cheaper.

We purchased a kilo of scampi for dinner. They were very reasonably priced. We peeled them and cooked them in butter in our apartment. Heaven!

We visited the market as part of a walking tour and what an incredible place - full of freshly caught fish and seafood sold by locals. If seafood is your thing then you have to stop by and pick up the freshest seafood available.

Our toddler found it fascinating. Plenty of stall holders selling interesting fish - both cured and fresh. And a filleting service for those of you who want to take away with no mess at home!

Stumbled across this on our wanders, probably a little late in the day (mid-morning). It is just fascinating to watch all the activity. What half of the sea creatures are is beyond me! 20 minutes of noisy, free entertainment, with the chance to buy some...More

The fish market is Split is one of those sites that everyone should do at least once because this is part of the local fabric. You know the products will be just caught due to Croatia's proximity to the Adriatic Sea. Unfortunately we got there...More
