10 minute walk from palace Extensive collections of items , fascinating, but would have liked more explanation about them. Vast quantities of outdoor exhibits too don't miss them! Almost seemed like too many exhibits for the space they had open for display. Huge building wonder...More

The museum is worth the visit even if it is only to see the large pieces that are exhibited just inside the outer walls of the museum grounds. It is hard to imagine how some of these exhibits survived let alone retained the beauty and...More

Perhaps the best collection of Romnan and early Christian antiquities we`ve seen outside Rome itself. Quiet and uncluttered. The stele and sarcophagi were wonderful.

The museum is not far from old town, probably about a 10 minute walk, but without any signage or information about it, it's unlikely that many tourists find it. When we visited there were only 4 others there. The inside has a fairly good collection...More

Overall this museum has an interesting and remarkable collection of historic artefacts. The Roman statues and sarcophaguses were the most impressive, some things could have done with more information/translation however. Very pleasant outside area with benches and relatively inexpensive too.

We walked here from the Old city (it wasn't that far) and had no problem finding it and enjoying ourselves. There were very few people here when we visited so it made it a nice respite from the tour groups in town. If you're in...More
