Why is this not promoted?!?! *ENTER THROUGH BIG GATES* (Wasn't obvious to us) This was fantastic and this building is house to a very impressive collection of artefacts that only reveal themselves once you read the small print. If they were in the National History...More

We can only be grateful to Austro-Hungarian Empire and it's Emperor Franz Joseph I for establishing such a beautiful museum! Split is one of the rare towns which has TWO archeology museums - another being the Museum of Croatian Archeological Monuments. But if you visited...More

Seeking refuge from the punishing heat of the sun, we stumbled upon this museum. It has a great collection of well presented pieces and would be made much more of in other cities. It was very quiet in the day we visited. Incredible world class...More

Perhaps the best collection of Romnan and early Christian antiquities we`ve seen outside Rome itself. Quiet and uncluttered. The stele and sarcophagi were wonderful.

Plenty if items collected in the area. Dome more information could be a great addition, and if you have bad vision the small information text might be a problem. We spent around an hour at the museum which was well enough. To enter they charged...More
