The classic example of Soviet architecture. Nothing to deserve to pay much attention. It is situated beside Kharkov University.

I thought this was interesting to see if you're nearby in Freedom Square. But I wouldn't make a special trip just for this. It's just a building.

Unless you are nearby don't make a special trip to see this. Yes it's huge but there is not a lot else to recommend it.

At first glance the building doesn't seem very big. Then you realize it's actually stretched over two streets, and is actually very big. It's built in typical 'soviet' style. a.k.a. Really boring style. Amazing to think a full generation had to deal with cities full...More

This building is huge if you consider it was build in the 20's ( I was told so, never checked). Practically it was a center for the communist planned economy.

A must for arkitecture lovers! Built in the beginning of 20th century in constructivistic style. Unusual and located just in the very heart of the city! Need renovation though!

Beautiful buildings in Center of town. Only disappointment was that there is no history written about the buildings. I heard that they were built in the 1930's and the Nazi's tried to blow them up during WW2 without success! Apparently very strong buildings!

This is OK to see if you happen to be in Freedom Square. But I wouldn't make a special trip just for this.
