That is why Odessa is so unique- we have a lot of books written in Odessa and about Odessa. Everyone read about 12 chairs by Ilf and Petrov. An unforgettable book and statue helped to remind about it.

The monument to the 12th Chair is dedicated to Ilf and Petrov, famous authors of the novel “Twelve Chairs”.
It is located in the center of Southern Palmira, in the City Park on Deribassovska Street. You can sit on chair and take nice photo.

Lif and Petrov wrote the TWELVE CHAIRS and on the back of it is the inscription (famous from the book): "How much for opium for the people". You are allowed to sit on it and I guess it's nice to mark the lads, but it's more for Ukranian folk than visitors, I think

Fun to learn the Twelve Chairs tale here - along with the amusement of the chalked footsteps lining up to sit on chair, but with some veering off, not wanting to be bothered to wait. A metaphor there too.

Put up on the edge of City Park. Lots of people posing for photos on the chair. You cannot appreciate why the chair is there unless you know of or read the satirical book "The 12 Chairs" by Odessian authors Lif and Petrov.

The Chair stands in Drebasovskaya street, so you can't miss it. I read the Book, and watched the Movie several times, so I knew the meaning of the Monument.

Despite its apparent popularity, with people queuing in at day and night to sit on it and ask others to take their photographs, I could not understand the significance and purpose of doing so. evidently. It appeal to many for no clear reason. worth have a look if you happen to pass along the street.
