I carefully waited until the Agua volcano was visible before coming so I could get a great photo. Rightly or wrongly, I took a tuktuk up (had climbed a volcano previous day) and walked down the road. View was great and Fuego was puffing smoke too.

Walk up 1a Avenida and you will see the well marked path. It is an easy walk up 300 steps. You don't need a taxi. People jog up and down the steps for exercise. The view is great.

A group of us hiked up this mountain with a magnificent view of Antigua and the volcanoes and mountains beyond. Benches to rest at on the way up. It was a sunny day and there were other visitors who made the climb up there admiring the view. Vendors up there who had made the trek with many handmade woven and... More

You just can't get the visual impact from a picture. Definitely worth the visit. That volcano view is awesome!

My husband and I got dropped off at the entrance of this site and walked in to see the city laid out at our feet. It was a very nice view and the walk down to the city was paved and easy to navigate.

Okay, so I didn't get to experience the exercise of hiking up to the cross. I moved to Antigua almost 3 weeks ago, but I've been told that it is a little dangerous to walk up to the cross alone. The suggestion is to always go in groups, so I didn't go because I've been studying but a friend offered... More

If you have the energy or want the exerice, there is a 15 minnute steep step climb to a vista overlooking Colonial Antigua. If yo uare not interested in the walk, Tuk-tuks will take you for a ride, literally and figuratively, though it is a MUST do for your trip to Antigua.

The climb to this attraction is not for the faint of heart or out of shape. I counted 327 steps up the last part of the climb. However, the view is worth the effort and recommended. I haven't been to Rio but I think this is the same as the statue overlooking the city there; its one of those things... More

I thought this attraction was ok. It does have a really good view of Antigua and nice perspective in that you can see all the ruins of the town dotted amongst the newer buildings. The site itself is ok, quite dirty as there is a lot of trash around. There was a cool mix of locals and of tourists. I... More

I bring teams annually to Guatemala to serve with the people of Guatemala. As we pass through Antigua, this location is a captivating short side trip. The mobile can hike it easily (mostly steps), and it is close to the city. We choose to take a taxi (from the Parque Centrale) to maximize the time to enjoy the rest of... More
