This massive convent was a thriving community of nuns from 1736 until the 1773 earthquake, after which it was abandoned. Now open to the public, tranquil gardens, sparse nuns’ cells and a terrific view from the roof make this a popular attraction.

This is a cool place to visit. The architecture is wonderful and there are a lot of interesting spots to visit there.

My friends and I thoroughly enjoyed walking around these ruins. What made the experience was using the tour guide we met in the very first room. At first we were not interested in a tour guide, but he was very friendly and offered some initial...More

It is an amazing place but this last time we were told we cannot take pictures of ourselves or we would be charged which we considered to be rude since you usually wanna take pictures of yourself when you visit a place right?

This is a nice place to get away and explore something that is rife with history. All sorts of fun nooks and crannies to explore.

I really enjoyed these ruins. They have been rehabilitated with a joint partnership with the government of Taiwan. These ruins have recreations of rooms (you can see how the nuns lived), nice grounds and a museum with original artwork and religious pieces from the original...More

We had become used to having Antigua's sights pretty much to ourselves during our April and May visits. Unfortunately our visit to Convento Capuchinas coincided with its use for an art class in the main courtyard (many of the students now feature in my holiday...More

I'm not Catholic, or even Christian, but this place is gorgeous. There is a room you can walk down into that is perfect for singing! I will be going back just do that again lol

We stopped by on our foot tour from the cross down to the city center. Some friends did not want to pay the nominal entry fee. They were disappointed, this is a cool ruin and well worth the stop.

We enjoyed visiting Las Capuchinas and would definitely recommend it. As with most buildings/churches/ruins we saw in Antigua it is a much bigger site than it appears to be from the outside. The interior courtyard is serene and beautiful. Of special interest was being able...More
