Nice shop!

Not really a "museum", but a nice shop offering locally processed chocolates... I'd recommend trying at least a cup of their hot chocolate (the one with cinnamon is our favorite).

We were booked in for a 2 hour introductory class by the tour company that organized our two week trip to Guatemala. We'd expected something more cliched but were pleasantly surprised. Our "teacher" Orlando was a charming young man who radiated enthusiasm and spoke excellent English. He gave us a comprehensive lesson on the history of chocolate (also in Guatemala)... More

We are chocolate lovers so we were very excited about the opportunity to make our own chocolate! We signed up for one of the workshops at the Choco Museo "from bean to bar." The guide gave us a good explanation about the history of cocoa beans/chocolate. The actual "making" of the chocolate consisted of pouring already melted dark or milk... More

We went to the Chocolate Museo on 4 Calle Oriente yesterday and tried ALL the samples - tea, fudge, liqueurs, chocolate, drinks etc. Even though we spent nothing and told them we had no money to spend they were lovely and encouraged us to try everything. Today I did the bean to bar workshop at the location near arch. It... More

Visited today for the chocolate workshop, it was fantastic! We tried several different chocolate drinks, made our own bar, and learned about the history and process of making chocolate. Patricia the host was loads of fun, and really knew her stuff. Would highly recommend!

We checked the list of things to do in Antigua and this was near the top. Close to our hotel we decided to stop by and see what this was all about. Once we entered we were greeted by a friendly young woman who spoke English very well and offered a few samples. We tried the 70% dark chocolate and... More

My friends and I were in Antigua for a few days and we went for an afternoon tour of the Museo. We had a fantastic guide Patty. She was so knowledgable and the way she presented the information about the chocolate and the history was brilliant. While we were making the drinks we played some great games and sang some... More
