This was my first time at this school, but my second time doing a cooking event in Antigua. We got there a little early. We were happy to wait until it was time. We were encouraged to go to the restaurant bar for a drink. We were not interested because we knew we would get wine during the event. Our... More

We took the market tour and cooking class. Ana and Mateo took us to the market to purchase some of the ingredients for our class. We were able to taste many fruits and other delicacies that were new to us. Ana and Mateo were very knowledgeable about Antigua and Guatemala. We stopped on the way back at an exhibition site... It is not that you are coming to learn hot to prepare and cook latin dishes........but where you are is a wonderful experience in itself...!! When you are arriving into the city of Antigua, you are mesmerized by the towering volcanoes, the lush vegetation, and the architecture that takes you back in time .....hundreds of years! The city is very... More

Wife and I went to cooking school last week and had so much fun. Our cook Felisa and our translator Ana were so charming and engaging that this turned out to be one of our favorite experiences in Antigua. Very casual and laid back. Felisa let us participate as much or as little as we wanted . One of the... More

We are traveling through Central America since a couple of weeks and have done a lot of activities so far but the last evening in this cute kitchen was one of the best things so far! You can choose the things you want to cook - so you can pick the ones you are really interested in! We had so... More

My son (age 9) and I thoroughly enjoyed our class. We prepared 5 different dishes, all of them very flavorful. The instructor and translator were both very pleasant and professional. Especially enjoyed sitting down afterward for a scrumptious lunch, including glass of wine. 5 stars for hospitality!

We arrived at 8:30 for the market tour and cooking class. We waited a good half an hour before we left for the market. In retrospect, I would not have paid extra for the market tour. My son and I had already been to the market several times during our stay in Antigua. Our guide did explain some new things... More

Our family of 5 (including children 16, 14, and 12 yo) had a fun afternoon/evening with a market tour and cooking class. We enjoyed every moment of it and the food was the best meal we had all week. We have even made some of the dishes since we arrived home. Everyone at El Frijol Feliz was warm and welcoming.... More

The entire experience was a pleasure. Leivy , the woman who teaches the classes has a cute sense of humor and we laughed the whole time. We were involved from the beginning , peeling carrots ,through frying of the chile rellenos. The recipes were relatively simple, and I was even able to follow what was going on with my very... More

It was an awesome night. My wife and I both enjoyed it tremendously. I would highly recommend it. The food was amazing, the class was amazing, if we ever make it back to Guatemala again we would definitely take another class. Hands down one of the best things we did while we we there. Guys, if you want to make... More
