I had a great experience on El CA Express. I used them three times, Guatemala Airport - > Antigua, El Paredón - > Antigua, and Antigua - > the Airport. They were prompt with replies, willing to help and wait a few extra minutes for me when I landed and customs took longer than expected, cheap, easy to book, provided wifi, comfortable seats, and outlets at seats. I will use this shuttle service again when I return to Guatemala

CA Express offers a top notch service, by far the best way to move between Antigua and Guatemala City. Extremely comfortable, snacks and drinks, wifi, super friendly staff, and is still cheaper than going in uber or by taxi - it's a no-brainer. I've spent the entire trip being productive on my computer, I've spent the entire trip sleeping, and I've spent the entire trip sitting around a table with friends drinking beers. Only experience I've had that can make sitting in the Guatemala traffic enjoyable. Thank you!!

C.A. Express is a point-to-point shuttle between the airport in Guatemala City and a drop-off point in Antigua (among other places). It's a great way to travel.
It only picks up and drops off from one place in each city. So if you're already in Guatemala City (like me), you first have to get to the airport in order to meet the shuttle to Antigua. But that is easy to do with an Uber. And of course there's a fixed schedule, unlike Uber or a taxi. The huge advantage is that the C.A. Express shuttle is much more affordable than an Uber or a taxi, while still offering great service.
The best use is probably as a one way shuttle, say from Guatemala City to Antigua. I think that's what it's designed to do. I used it for a day trip from Guatemala City to Antigua and back. That also worked very well although the schedule makes for a rather long day. Of course that might also be an advantage depending on how much time you want to spend there.
One last suggestion: if you're going to Antigua sometimes the driver will offer to drop you off door-to-door at your hotel depending on the traffic etc. That's a great bonus. But if you plan to return to Guatemala City with C.A. Express make sure to ask him to show you where the official pick up spot is so you can find it easily on your return.

My partner and I built our trip to Antigua around the morning Volcano hike booked through El CA Express via TripAdvisor. We saved the hike for our last day as we wanted our final day in the city to be memorable. 12 hours before the scheduled pick up time, they still had not reached out to us to confirm the pickup location. As we were on the phone waiting our turn after putting in our confirmation number, we received an email that our reservation had been canceled with no explanation or offer to rebook - no communication at all. Be warned — the El CA Express company is not reliable and may cancel on a moments notice (literally).

I had pre-booked a bus with C.A. Express and found out they changed their schedule. Since this is a brand new company they are still tweaking their schedules to figure out what works - a lot of places would have said 'too bad take our new schedule' but this was not the case with C.A. Express. They said they would honor the original time and since I was the only one who booked for that time I would get picked up by an SUV at my hotel. Not a bad trade-in at all! Additionally since I was the only one, they were flexible with the timing and was in direct communication with me via WhatsApp as they figured out the best options for me and another passenger who was supposed to be on a later bus. Piero provided fantastic customer service, going above and beyond. This is clearly a company looking to make a name for themselves in Guatamela. Highly recommended!

I booked a transfer from Antigua to Guatemala City. The online process was easy, and I received an immediate email confirmation and my boarding pass. But because fewer than four people booked the same trip, they messaged me that they would instead be driving me from Antigua to Guatemala in an SUV, and they would even pick me up at my hotel. (It's not environmentally-friendly to drive an empty bus!). My pickup was one-time, and I was offered refreshments and could even charge any portable electronic devices. I was delivered to the airport quickly and safely in comfort. Highly recommended for reliable friendly service!

I booked online and used their shuttle from the Guatemala City airport to Antigua and back again. It’s not a taxi and goes from one pick up point in Guate to one point in Antigua and vice versa. The schedule makes for kind of a long day if you do a round trip. But it’s great service and much cheaper than an Uber for example. The driver was great, customer service was great.
One thing I wish I’d done was ask the driver to point out the Antigua pick up point (for the return trip) when he dropped me off in the morning. I didn’t realize quite how far it was from the center and finding it in the dark was a little stressful on the way home. But that was my fault for not asking him to point it out upon arrival.

Hi Graham,
Thank you so, very much for your kind feedback!
I do agree that the explanation / address of our bus stop could be clearer in the email. Having said that, we usually do drop people off on their way into Antigua at our bus stop, it just happens that the service you took was not full and whenever we have less than 5 passengers, we offer a complimentary door-to-door service.
Having said that, not everyone that takes our bus comes in through Guatemala City with us, so I agree with you that the explanation should be clearer. We will get to work on improving that ASAP. We are also working on changing our pickup stop to the city center, at the "Parque Central" / Central Plaza of Antigua to make it easier to get to. We hope to begin dropping people off and picking them up at the city center by March 1st.
Thank you once again!

This was an unbelievable day! We started at 4:30 am departing from Antigua to make it to the Pacaya Volcano summit by sunrise. The bus was aesthetically beautiful, extremely comfortable and fostered a very friendly environment with a bunch of other 30-somethings onboard. Not too mention, there were snacks and wifi included. The best part of it all was the tremendous knowledge the tour operator, Piero, had. Climbing up the volcano with him was like being in a NATGEO show, he knew everything and extremely helpful. I would recommend this tour to anybody looking for memorable experiences while in Guatemala.

I booked travel to and from Antigua for a Cuban colleague attending a conference in Antigua in October 2019. I needed a service that I could pay for from the US with my credit card. I found a recommendation on the web from El CA Express. I was really pleased with the choice. I am really thankful for the great communication I had via both email and WhatsApp with CA Express staff. In the end my colleague travelled not on the bus but this a regular car and a driver, also part of the CA Express staff. He was really pleased with the service. This happened because he was on the only person signed up for the trips on the days and times I booked for him. What is great about CA Express is that no matter the number of travelers on a particular trip, you will not be left hanging. The company also arranged for door-to-door service for a really modest fee. Thank you, CA Express, for working with me and my colleague. I highly recommend this service.

Is the bus from Guatemala City to Antigua still in operation? Every date I picke on their website says there is no bus available.
This seems like a great option, but i'm not sure if they closed down during the COVID 19 pandemic.

My flight arrives at the Guatemala City Airport at 7:20pm and I would like to take the 7:45pm bus to Antigua. Is 25 minutes realistically enough time to get from the gate to the bus?
Written 12 July 2019
That may be cutting it close. When I got to the airport there was a long line at customs.
