I loved the adventure in getting to Great Point. We rented a jeep and drove on the beach to get to the lighthouse. It wasn't the best day as far as the weather goes, but had a great time anyway. There were seals very close...More

Rent a Jeep at Young’s for the day. Grab a few Beach chairs from your hotel and head to Great Point Light. It’s distance away from town makes for the most desolate of them all. We saw a load of seal along the coastline. Don’t...More

Enjoyed a morning drive across the dunes to Great Point. Need to have a 4WD vehicle and low pressure tires to make the trip. Saw a dozen or more seal on the journey along both shores.

Great beach day, very quiet and relaxing. Water was too rough for swimming. Definitely Bring big spray the flies are relentless.

Ignore the prices, rent a jeep for the day and drive out there. Completely worth it and a highlight of our week in Nantucket. Bring a camera and lots of bug spray! The only negative we're the swarms of mosquitoes

If you have the ability to get to it, Great Point Light is as beautiful a place as I have ever seen on Nantucket. I spent many sunrises there as a young man fishing in the surf for blues and striped bass. So, if you...More

We used Affordable rentals but guessing they all prep you well for the trip over sand, and the attendants where you deflate your tires (and pay your fee) give you all you need to know. We've gotten stuck in sand before at other places and...More
