After years of vacationing on Nantucket, we finally made it out to Great Point. We rented a jeep for the week from Affordable Rentals, so we had the permit to go out there. It was well worth it! Fun driving out to the lighthouse in...More

If you have the ability to get to it, Great Point Light is as beautiful a place as I have ever seen on Nantucket. I spent many sunrises there as a young man fishing in the surf for blues and striped bass. So, if you...More

We used Affordable rentals but guessing they all prep you well for the trip over sand, and the attendants where you deflate your tires (and pay your fee) give you all you need to know. We've gotten stuck in sand before at other places and...More

We took Jeeps and went as far as you could go. It's peaceful...so beautiful and seals are at the end of the beach. They are also in the water which was amazing to see.

Great Point Light is one of the hardest places to get to on Nantucket, but well worth the planning and effort. I've made the trip a couple of times during the winter with my own Jeep. I asked the Nantucket police about going out there...More
