This beach is never as busy as some other beaches. On some days, the waves are big so if you have little kids, you might consider the part under the kiosk, the western part is way less busy but often rough. We saw whales here...More

The beach itself is beautiful and a great place to spend an afternoon. The snack shack is good, but it is pretty expensive. Note that adding any extras on wraps/sandwiches will cost you. The bathroom/shower/changing area is great and you can rent chairs and umbrellas...More

Surfside is our go-to Nantucket beach. It's beautiful (as they all are!), and convenient . . . parking, snack bar, chair and umbrella rentals, changing rooms . . . makes it super easy to enjoy a fabulous beach day!

Well worth to trip out of town. Only 20 minutes to get there. Great for family with children an not crowded. Food and bathrooms are also available. Plenty of parking and only 2 minutes to the beach.

Surfside is our favorite beach on the island (though we usually try and sit a little further down at the entrance to Fisherman's). We love the waves, and the amount of space and can bring our two golden retrievers to play in the water. There...More

Excellent beach for families! The water is warm and the waves are minimal so kids can enjoy their time in the water without worrying about currents or waves crashing on them.

Absolutely terrible. You wait a couple of hours for a stone cold crab cake. Deplorable ripoff. They even lock the toilets. Worst place on the island.

Surfers sometimes hit Surfside in “shoulder” season (June and Sept) but it’s usually too crowded during peak summer months. Better surf at Cisco usually.

No. And this is an isolated section of the island as far as stores and restaurants go.
