This beach is slowly going out to sea, but it remains very popular every summer, especially with Millie's being so handy for snacks and lunch or dinner.

Though out of town, worth trying on the west end of the island...sunrise to sunsets always great biking and beach. Easy trolley ride into town as well. Sunsets are incredible

I went to madaket beach for the first time this month. I drove out from town specifically to check out the beach and fit in a quick lunch at Millie's. Although it was cool (high 60's, low 70's) we had a relaxing outing. Would definitely...More

One way to spend a beautiful day in Nantucket is to rent a bike in town and ride the bike trail to Madaket Beach. Take a beach towel to sit on and watch the surf. It's not crowded and the sand is soft. There are...More

A wonderful beach with beautiful soft sand, we didn't have great weather but was still worth a visit.

At the end of a nice bike trail, we drove as we still had the jeep. Can see evidence of some of the beach erosion that has happened.

Awesome place to see the sunset! If I remember correctly, it's a little far off, especially if you don't have a car!

If you visit Nantucket, make sure not to skip Madaket Beach. It`s beautiful, quiet, the waves are great and there is no better place to watch the sunset from!

Madaket Beach is a photographers dream location. Little sounds. Big sky. Beautiful landscape and cozy little beach cabins. Stay for the sunset.

Hands down one of the best places to watch the sunset on Nantucket. Grab some wine, a blanket and head out for an amazing view!

One restaurant, really good food with fair prices and sunset view. Its easy to pack a picnic and eat on the beach for the best sunset views! Enjoy!
HI :-) we like to find out of the way places and would love to see this beach ! It looks and sounds amazing ... it was recomended to us from a very nice local man we met while in sconset a few years back ... but just as we were leaving :-( we would be taking the wave to where bus drops you off. how long should we allow for the bus ride ? ( we would not want to miss our ferry back) also how far is the walk to the beach from where the bus would drop us off ?? ... it looks to be very walkable and across the road from Millies so we planned on eating there. we were hoping to try to catch the sunset and be back in time for our ferry at 9:20 we would be greatful for any advise our help with our plans here and look forward to our trip in a few weeks !!! Hi Lisa and Rick! We took the wave from the front of the Whaling Museum to Madaket. My husband estimates that it took 15-20 min (maybe 6-7 miles?) to get out there. Have a wonderful trip!!! Kerry

Can you drive on it?

Locals were deflating their tires to drive on it; and with sand permits on their vehicles. We opted to park a ways out; and walk on the sand it.
