The church is very unusual design from the outside.
However the interior is utterly brilliant. Very colourful and lovely

A beautiful and interesting sight showing the mutual respect between both the Orthodox Christians and the Islamic faith, who are the 2 most common religions in Skopje.

Do visit the church of St. Clement of Ohrid. The exterior architecture gives no clue to the splendid inside. To understand the struggle and history of Macedonia, and its people you have to learn about St Clement. We loved this church, and would revisit at any opportunity. If only mosques could be more accessible to Non-Muslims, then the world may have a more tolerant view of each others faiths. Sit and reflect in the cool shade of the gardens out-site.

Macedonian people seem to take religion quite seriously and there are loads of churches there. This one is the biggest, and is moderately interesting.

This is a modern church, of course, so many tourists may not put this high on their list, but it is very close to the center and on the way to the Green Market, so if you're passing it is worth a stop in. The outside doesn't do the inside justice, which impresses through the size of its screen of icons and the painted dome. Still, unless you're one of the faithful or have a particular interest in contemporary Orthodox iconography, I would expect that your visit would last just a few minutes. If you are in town at Easter (the Saturday vigil beginning at 11 p.m.) the celebration in and around the church (streets blocked off, huge crowd with candles and eggs) is definitely worth seeing.

Definitely one of the most unique churches I have seen in all of the Balkan countries. The multiple circular domes and the green colors gives it all its character.

The church has 3 beautiful chandeliers and beautiful frescoes and iconostasis. The architecture is interesting. The bell tower is a separate structure.

Worth a look if you have time. On first inspection I was confused as to whether this was an Orthodox Church or a Mosque - the domes and minaret suggested a mosque but it soon became clear it was Orthodox.
