Mt. Greylock commands spectacular views in clear weather. In foul weather, the drive up and down the mountain can be scary, and the hike may be dangerous. I recommend going in early autumn for the foliage views, but before mid-October (we were caught in a...More

Mount Greylock is located in northwest Massachusetts, near Williams College, and is the state's highest point, nearly 3500 feet. In addition, it is on the Appalachian Trail. The Veterans War Memorial Tower at the summit can be seen from many areas in western Massachusetts. The...More

The lookout is closed for repair. Who cares? So much to see on the way up and on the way down. Beautiful Fall experience and amazing vistas on all sides. Really good visitor centre on the way up or down spending on where you start.

We were given very good information about the sort of walks we wanted. Did a couple of different ones. Rounds Rock was our first walk. Less than an hour. Easy access and parking. Then did the falls. More challenging, narrow and downhill. As there hadn't...More

Autumn visit and we drove to the top of the mountain. Absolutely superb. Amazing views and an easy road. Lots of spots to stop. Great use of anyone's time.

Perfect place for leaf pipping and hiking. Beautiful. The views are amazing both along the drive and along the hike. Mount Greylock is even a part of the Appalachian trail.

Nice ride to the summit where the views are great. The tower was not open due to repairs but I knew this ahead of time. There is a visitor center at the bottom of the summit road that had some good information.

We drove the 8 miles up. Saw a few vistas. Probably best if you are a hiker. Most of the winding road is within trees so you really do not see much. Leaves poor at this time.

There was a dog on our corridor there, and it was a problem as the dog barked every time one of us went down the hall to our rooms.
we need a gps location so we can find out where it it to drive up the mountain

We just used Google maps, but we have a good nose for direction. Once you're on the road to the summit, there's nowhere else to go. Same thing coming down.
