I stopped here for several hours to take in the incredible views. There is a small gift store at the summit, but the viewing tower was closed for repairs. You can relax in the Bascom Lodge, have a glass of wine or a beer, and...More

We went up Mount Greylock as Mount Washington had closed for the season, the drive up was pretty easy and plenty of vista points, the weather also changes as you rise up the mountain, we left with quite mild temperatures at the base but near...More

Visiting Mt Greylock is a great experience, either by car, or, if you have most of a day, by hiking. As the highest peak in Massachusetts, the ride up has great views all the way up. Climb the War Memorial tower too. Bring a picnic.

We followed the Jones Nose Trail uphill to where it joined the Appalachian Trail, and then on to the top of Mount Greylock. Very pretty country with a couple of clear overlooks, but it was a rainy day in October when we were there, so...More

This is a lovely drive to the top of the mountain, particularly in fall when the leaves are blazing their colors. At the top, you'll find a hiker's shelter and a lodge, along with the iconic towering war memorial, but few services.

My husband and I started our foray into camping and hiking at Mt. Greylock. I remember the first night we stayed there, my husband had told the ranger about how nervous I was, this gentleman (Jared) was so kind and helpful. He provided me with...More

Drove to top of highest peak in the state with great views. We were staying in Williamstown so you can go up one way and come down via another (helps with a sat nav). Hats off to those who do it by walking up!

We were spending a few days in beautiful Williamstown, MA and obviously wanted to drive to the top of the highest mountain in Massachusetts. Having driven through the Rockies, we were not expecting a spectacular drive or a spectacular view from the top. We really...More

There was a dog on our corridor there, and it was a problem as the dog barked every time one of us went down the hall to our rooms.

We just used Google maps, but we have a good nose for direction. Once you're on the road to the summit, there's nowhere else to go. Same thing coming down.
