beautiful historical district to just walk, have something to eat and wander around. Restaurants were expensive though.

The town is very walkable, everyone at the visitor centers were friendly and helpful. There is a free shuttle bus that runs about every 20 minutes. We parked in a garage that allowed all day parking for $15.

If you happen to be in Annapolis, you have to spend some time in the historic district. There are plenty of places to park in the garages so that you dont have to worry about that. Everything is within walking distance of the parking garages.

We stayed in an Air B and B in the heart of the historic district and the only thing that kept it from being a five star experience was the parking problems in the historic part of the city. So much we wanted to see and do that we could not due to my husband's mobility challenges. Due to rough walkways and streets (much uneven brick and cobble stone) there were serious limits to where his wheelchair could go.

My favorite about Annapolis, besides its historical district , was the harbor and waterfront. Really nice town to visit on trips. It’s surrounded by local activities and great food!! The Boatyard Restaurant was the place to get crab cakes !! It’s an active town but this will not prevent you from having fun!! Great for families, friends, or couples who just want to getaway.

We spent a weekend in Annapolis enjoying hours of strolling, exploration and discovery. Overall, the experience was very pleasant and the town very picturesque. Some parts of the Historic District reminded us of Dublin including the colorful doors of some old houses. We visited many local boutiques, ate good food and explored on foot.
Beautiful location and rich history make Annapolis a very attractive weekend destination.

Walking in the street, blowing the sea breeze, it's very comfortable. Didn't go into the state house b/c it was under construction. It's perfect for taking pictures on a sunny day.

Hello ,
My Mom and I are planning to visit Annapolis during our trip through the Northeastern United States this winter(we're from The Netherlands). We're having the third of January in mind. Our hotel is in Washington DC and we've found out that, from there, the trip with the Greyhound Bus takes less than an hour.
We're wondering, is Annapolis worth a visit during this time of year and what are some fun things to do for us?
We've found out, the '60 minute historic Annapolis bus tour' aren't available during this time of year. Is there a good alternative?
Thanks so much and best Christmas wishes for all of you!

merry Christmas back to you. I would definitely visit the downtown area where the harbor has great architecture and cozy bars and restaurants. The Naval Academy is a must-see. It gets cold that time of year, so you want to plan your getaway from the downtown...inside somewhere cozy...back to your bus.

Can you be slightly more specific? Basically, this is a downtown waterfront area. All the shops/restaurants are ADA compliant (meaning they are wheelchair accessible, etc.). I'm pretty sure all the historic buildings also have ramps, lifts, etc. If there's a specific place or concern, I'd recommend calling that place directly.

Other than the Academy & the State House, what other sites would you recommend ?

Try the downtown area - great walking for shops and restaurants. Try over the bridge for the Boatyard!
