You could sit there for hours, watching all the boats presenting themselves (and secretly thing about the egos of their owners).

This is a great place to people watch. We bought some cracked corn at the market, fed the ducks, watched the boats and their occupants, watching us to make sure they were being watched. It was a nice break on our walking tour of Annapolis.

Very popular with tourists, not much parking. Gets hot on a sunny day and often crowed. General just a nice visit

Since I grew up in the area, I might be kind of biased. But it has always been a good place to see a variety of boats and water toys. Everything from jet-skis to million dollar yachts. I am impressed with how boaters manage to...More

After visiting this weekend, I can totally understand why it is called Ego Alley! The rich and famous parade their boats down this small "alley" for all to see and be seen.

Ego Alley is named for the captains who pilot their boats up and down this waterway. The bigger and more ostentatious the better! There are a few benches for sitting and some trees and grass but little shade. Sometimes there are concerts by the US...More

Wouldn't go out of my way to see this, but found it entertaining while visiting with friends during lunch.

An interesting thing...watching people take the helm and boat up and down this little inlet. A fine place to sit and have a beer and remember how amazing you are as you watch the "Egos" go by. Nice dinghy dock at the end of the...More

While in Annapolis, take a walk along the water for sure. If you stay on the left side of Ego Alley, you get a great view of the boats in the basin and out in the harbor. There are boat tours too, but we've never...More

As you stroll downtown Annapolis, you will see a narrow area where boats parade in and out - that's what Annapolitans call "Ego Alley". Grab an ice cream and troll this are to people watch and be amazed by all the beautiful boats.

Certainly, and there are many outdoor cafes that allow dogs. Indoors is not allowed because of silly health dept rules. Not as liberal as Europe, but outdoors is fine.

If he likes boats he will like this area in summer. I'd suggest a ride around the harbor however. Might be more fun for a 7 year old. Would definitely take the Naval Academy tour. Lot more to see for a younger child.
