The Mansion is gorgeous. A lovely place for a conference. With very large groups and there was one meeting the second time I got there, parking was a problem. I had an appointment in an office on the third floor which are a bit dreary looking since a variety of people and agencies rent offices there. If though you are attending a function it is well worth looking around the first floor.Beautiful staircase and lovely spacious make this a lovely spot for a wedding. I don't know though whether the Mansion has a kitchen. I would have liked to know the history. How the rich lived!

This review is just for the exterior of the mansion. It's a Colonial Revival built with local granite and bricks from St. Louis, and it's very 'stately' (no pun intended). I'd love to see the interior, but you have to attend an event, and I'm from Saco, so it's unlikely that'll ever happen. It's an impressive building and not far from that nerve-racking rotary down the street.

From the moment I walked into the mansion, I knew it was the place I would choose for my wedding day. My husband (then fiance) looked at the smile on my face and knew we were done looking. Jamie and Elaine were both WONDERFUL from the beginning. They were always responsive, helpful and went above and beyond. I had both my ceremony and reception at the mansion and it made everything so easy. It was seamless. The food was wonderful. The staff was kind and accommodating. I wouldn't hesitate one bit to recommend the mansion to anyone. It was PERFECT. Jamie sent me a very meaningful photo after my wedding of my grandmother signing the guest book. It was priceless. It wasn't something Jamie had to do - the wedding was over - but it was a gesture I won't forget. Thank you!

The people who own Governor Hill Mansion and the manager are great and very helpful! The building is not "old", but "antique"! And beautiful! We will be hosting an event upcoming and if the food is a great as they say it is, we will use this property for all our future events!

We went to an event here. The room was a great size, the stage was well lit. Everything was clean.

When my wife's mother died last month, we held a post-church service reception at the Governor Hill Mansion. It could not have been nicer. The atmosphere, food, and attention were outstanding. We received rave reviews and thanks from family and friends. Our sincere thanks to Geoff, Jamie, Elaine, and the Mansion team for the perfect venue at a difficult time.

We held a statewide meeting here. A nice large room and a cople of smaller rooms. This is a pleasant place. Very close to state capitol. Unfortunately, for reasons never made clear, carts rolled along the hallway throughout the day when we were hold a meeting. Strongly recommend having an agreement about noise before finalizing an agreement to meet here.

My wife and I attended a political event at the Governor Hill Mansion in Augusta, Maine. This was the first and only time that we have visited the facility, so we were unfamiliar with it. When we drove in, we found a reasonably sized parking lot, which was nearly filled, but we were able to find a parking space near the back. However, when we returned to our car, a man was standing there, waiting to tell us that we were parked in a space reserved for another building. Even after he pointed to what he said were signs that spelled that out, we were unable to read them at night, and the man was very rude, almost threatening. I don't know if he didn't support our candidate or if he was truly sick of people parking in the wrong places, but these spaces are not at all intuitive.
As for the facility itself, it was comfortable enough, and able to comfortably accommodate the large number of people who were there.

A unique facility for meetings and special event. It is conveniently located in the downtown area. It offers a large parking area for guest.
