We loved Bird City. Such a beautiful lagoon So many birds nesting on the piers, platforms, and trees. Great for photographic opportunities. We observed other wildlife, including turtles. The walk to the sanctuary is beautiful.

Part of the Jungle Gardens tour at Avery Island and it houses a large egret (breeding), alligator and turtle population. Walk to the platform and watch in silence: beautiful!

Easy walk down to see thousands of birds roosting over the water. We saw an alligator swimming in the lake.

Truly a wow factor experience for animal and nature lovers. I have never seen so many of those huge white birds in one place before, much less in nests. They have all sorts of strange and cool behaviors when nesting. I was also surprised to...More

unfortunately not. uneven ground and stairs to climb. You may want to check with the little store there though. maybe there is another place to view it from that may be wheel chair accessible
