Great way to view the old Pacific Locks

We were there near 9:30am. The view is amazing for the fourth floor but there were so many people that we had to struggle for a space to view the Canal. There were no boats passing and the theater to see the movie or documentary that they offer, were full to the max. The museum was quite interesting but we... More

We went on a very busy day. They should limit the number of people allowed in at a time. You couldn't move and people were actually pushing to get into the museum. We looked at the canal snapped a few photos and left. There was no way I was shoving to get into a museum.

Very interesting to watch the locks. It can be addictive. We spent 5 hours here. There is a very short movie and a very small museum. Actually there is much more information that we were curious about that we had to google, because there wasn't much info here ~ the main attraction is watching the ships pass. We found out... More

It is great to see the large vessels pass the locks. A great technical achievement. But i don't think the visitor center is that informative. Be sure that you visit around 10:00 OR 14:30. Otherwise you will not see a vessel pass.

I wasn't sure if I would enjoy yet another museum....but the setup of Miraflores was amazing! It was informative, engaging and definitely not boring! Give yourself a few hours to enjoy the museum....and if there is a ship passing through the locks an extra hour or two. Only tip...try not to go late morning...there are far too many school groups... This is a must see if you really want to understand the canal. I wish the video was longer and had more detail on the actual construction.

It is a basic museum that offers some related information of the history, engineering desing, types of ships allowed, and a couple of simulators to enhace your visit to the Miraflores gates of the Panama Canal. It is the best way to take a look of the canal at a very short distance of the Pacific Ocean's gate.

It was one of the must see during my Panam trip. Unfortunately the quality of service is much below my expectation. Museum is probably the best thing you can see there. The cinema and the movie on show is just a quick resume of what you already know after visiting museum. Watching the passing ships could be more organised ie... More

Don't bother hiring a tour guide. Just get a taxi to the Visitor's Center (it will be half the price at best). The visitors center has everything you need (a movie, displays and a narrator on a microphone) to make your visit compelling. The food is overpriced, but it's a touristy place and you can get fare that we are... More

Great place to view the workings of the Miraflores lock on the Panama Canal. See huge container ships pass through the locks and be amazed at the scale of the operation. Then, see the information movie about the construction of the canal, and visit the museum all about the building of the canal. Really worth a visit
