An absolute highlight of an extensive trip in both Panama and Costa Rica. When our tour guide pointed to the home made, hand made dugout sitting in a very muddy swift river I thought,"what have I gotten myself into this time?" Along the way we saw a very nasty looking cayman showing us his/her pearly whites and I gripped the... More

this was a truly wonderful experience. The Embera people were lovely and extremely welcoming. They cooked a wonderful lunch, shared much about their culture and performed some traditional dances and songs for us. The day gave us a glimpse into their life and allowed us to connect with people we normally would not have had the opportunity to encounted. Iwa,... More

My husband, our four kids (ages 8,6,4,1) and I visited the Embera Puru village with Anne and stayed the night. What an amazing experience. First, definitley do the overnight tour. I can't imagine having the same experience if we were only there a few hours. My children were playing with the Embera children from the minute we arrived. It was... More

Pretty much every tour company in Panama City offers tours of one of the Embera Indian Villages, so take some time to research which company/tour guide to use. We went with Anne Gordon, both because of the fabulous reviews here, and because of the fact that she is married to a villager and therefore has full access to one of... More

The moment I met Anne I know that my 82 year old mother and I were in for an outstanding trip. Anne exudes confidence, friendliness and a thorough knowledge of Panama. Our tour actually began long before we got to the point where we caught the dug-out boats to go up the river to the village. Along the way she... More

We contacted Ann Gordon, based on posts on TripAdvisor. Unfortunately she was unable to lead our tour and we were escorted by another operator she works with. His name is Garcette and he did an outstanding job. Garcette is an Embera Indian himself and leads a variety of tours in the Chagres NP. The six of us were picked up... More

We went with 4 other people on a trip to the Embera Village of Paru with Ann Gordon. It was the highlight of our 4 days in Panama City. You feel as if you are transported to another time and culture. My wife and I make jewelry and we traded with the Embera who make beautiful bowls, carvings and masks.... More

I contacted Anne Gordon, the guide who took my daughter and me to visit the Embera Indians at the village Parara Puru two years ago. At that time, my daughter and I spend the night in the village because we wanted a little more than just a few hours. I wrote in my original report 2 years ago that it... More

I HIGHLY recommend choosing Rudy's Tours if you are considering doing any day trips while in Panama City. I promise you won't regret it. I know that I would not have had the experience I had with Rudy if I had gone with another company... While traveling to Panama City on business, I was fortunate to get to stay an... More

We had a lovely tour with Rudy from Rudy's Tours to the Emberra Indian Village tribe. We were the only family there which was nice. We enjoyed the ride in Indian canoe, seeing monkeys, and learning about the Emberra way of life, especially the medicinal use of plants. It's interesting to see how the tribe tries to walk the line... More
