This is a very old and interesting church but mostly for the festival held there each year and for the unique view of Jesus.

It is an exquisite church. It is a must see. The interior is very small, but beautiful. The church was built in 1657. It has a great history. If you ever visit Old Panama City, you will learn more about it.

Lots of history here. Needs the full attention and a little prior research to appreciate it fully. Inspiring!

You need to go in for at least a second to see the Golden Alter, the only gold Henry Morgan didn't take.

This church from colonial times has a gold plated altar. It is an example of the Spanish influence in the colonies of the Americas. The walk around old Panama City is an wonderful experience.

This church has an altar covered with gold leaf. There are "fairy" tales regarding this altar and the pirate Captain Morgan. You can read about them within the church and then decide for yourself.

Very impressive especially for such a smaller church! The small size makes it even more appealing to me. With the inspiration it's well worth a visit .
