We had a wonderful experience with Sendero. Before I stumbled upon Sendero, I tried to arrange day tours with other tour operators in Panama City (Ancon Expeditions, Panama Trails, etc.) and had negative experiences with those guys (they were not responsive, did not answer my basic questions, and/or seemed outrageously expensive). I am so glad I found Sendero (on TripAdvisor,... More

A few days before out tour, we had to cancel our tours with Sendero due to family illness, however I STILL feel compelled to share something on here because I have been so impressed with their communication and organization. I originally contacted Sendero with an inquiry about tour availabilities rather late one night (East Coast time). I inquired about several... More

We visited panama recently and used Sendero Panama for a couple of our tours around the Panama Canal. The drivers and guides were friendly, helpful and very informative. We learn more about Panama in those two days than in the rest of our two weeks stay in that beautiful country.

A friend and I visited Panama in June, 2012, primarily to take the full transit through the Panama Canal, but also to visit other sites the country has to offer. After much research, we selected Sendero for three day trips with various goals: cultural history and World Heritage Sites, natural history, and visits to some of Panama's native villages. I... After a good deal of internet research, we decided to book three of our four tours in and around Panama City with Sendero Panama, a relatively new tour company. Another company had first been recommended to us, but as with other companies, it was difficult to obtain thorough information from then. Mica, of Sendero, answered our questions thoroughly, provided complete... More

6 of us just got back from 8 days in Panama. Christian Gernez is the guy. He grew up in Panama, went to college in the states studying marine biology, returned to Panama to become a naturalist guide and started his own tour agency called Sendero Panama. He made our trip fabulous. His wife Micaela Gernez Schmidt-- Mica for short--set... More

Christian and Mica put together the most fascinating trips imaginable, introducing us to so much richness in just 1 week....One of us had discovered their company, Sendero Panama, after painstaking research on travel blogs and postings. While they were consistently recommended online, we were all blown away by how wonderful they were to work with. Mica and Christian patiently emailed... More

Four of us spent ten hours with Christian Gernez in early February for a walking tour of Pipeline Road and a visit to the Panama Rainforest Discovery Center (PRDC). This was the highlight of our week in Panama. Christian is highly knowledgeable with regard to birds, animals, and plants as well as the history of Panama. He showed us many... More

Christian and Mica organized this whole trip for the six of us and everything was exceptional. From restaurant recommendations in Panama City when we were on our own to multiple flights across Panama, this couple did it all. The most wonderful part was that our guide,Christian, knew the history, politics, and culture of Panama, Panamanians, and the Indigenous people. The... More
