Challege to find entrance, there is no sign. Driving in managua is a wild ride with rotarys , lots of traffic, very few signs, and no rules. We visited park on weekday, no other tourists, but felt safe. There is security and tour guides. We had a great tour of past prison area from Ulysis, who has english. .

At the exhibits Near the place where in 1934 Sandino and his colleagues got bullets in their heads fired by Somoza's National Guardsmen after Sandino had his last supper with the president. The former presidential palace at the Tiscapa crater lake rim was destroyed by an earthquake. At the highest point there is now a statue of Sandino's silhouette -his... More

This place is a must visit while in Managua. There is so much history. Try going early in the morning when it is not too hot, specially if you are traveling with children. Enjoy a lovely view of Managua and Xolotlán -the Lake.

The Loma de Tiscapa is an important historical point for the citizens of Nicaragua as it is where in 1934 the general Augusto C. Sandino was arrested after signing a peace treatment and having dinner with President Juan Bautista Sacasa and general Anastasio Somoza Garcia, who was the first director of the National Guard. This is where the Presidential Palace... More

Beautiful panoramic view. Some interesting exhibits on Somaza. There is a zip line canopy tour for adventurous that costs otherwise everything is free. Very worth doing. If you have teens and young adults they'd like the canopy tour

This is a historic place, where you can learn more about the history of Managua and the Somozas dictatorship. It would be great to have good guides for the photo exposition and a better cafeteria! Personally, I enjoy going there!

Built on top of the old home of the former dictator, a pleasant park atmosphere overlooking the city towards Lake Managua and the small crater lake of Tiscapa behind the silhouette of Augusto Sandino.

Nice park with beautiful views, a couple of historical exhibitions and a zipline. Entrance to the park is free - you only pay if you are doing the "canopy tour" which is 3 ziplines over the lake for $17.25 USD. Pretty good deal! The ziplines were fun and the staff was friendly and capable. I went there on my own... More

Not a beautiful landmark so it needs better signage to be appreciated. Good view of the city and lake. Just do your history homework before you go.
