We went here the day before actually going to Chernobyl just to get a feel for it. Get the electronic tour guide and beware the numbers on the displays for the tour guide can be hard to find. The museum is lacking in English so the tour guide is a must have to get the most out of the museum.

We went to this museum prior to visiting Pripyat and the reactor, and the the whole tour was very impressive. I've learned a lot new stuff about it that I didn't knew before. Lots of pictures.

This museum is something that everyone should visit. It is a tribute to the thousands of people killed as a result of man's incompetence when harnessing terrifically powerful technology. It is also a reminder of the willingness of the authorities within the former Soviet Union to with hold information and to distort information that may reflect badly on their regime.... More

This is amazing and so informative, but also very upsetting when you see how the workers gave their own lives to protect the people of the city and area, THIS IS A MUST SEE

The Chernobyl accident has always been something that's fascinated me, it was the main catalyst for my trip to Kiev, however this museum was a massive letdown. Very little information as to what actually happened and just seems to be a huge tourist trap. Audio guide is available but after 20-30 minutes (It lasts 100) I couldn't wait to get... More

Excellent museum, take the audioguide. You can leave your coat for free, they will safely keep it. They ask for a small payment for cameras, pay it, you wont regret. Following this visit, you will realize what is Chernobyl and how the humanity spoils the world.

We visited Chernobyl on a 2-day overnight tour before our visit, and this was a fantastic supplement to it. A fascinating museum, full of interesting artefacts and exhibits. It's very harrowing in places, lots of stories of the people who died in the disaster, and offers a real insight into what it was like for those affected by the tragedy.... More

It's an easy walk from the city center to this museum. Very inexpensive admission. If you cannot read Russian or Ukrainian, get the audioguide. The museum walks you through the timeline of the disaster and provides thoughful reflection on how much destruction we can wreak on our environment. I especially enjoyed the sculptures and artwork throughout the museum.

This was most interesting and displayed actual artifacts from the home that were affected by this unfortunate accident.

If you are in Kiev, do spent 2 hours to visit this museum, easy to reach from Kontraktova Ploshad metro, a 3 minute's walk from the station. Do take the audio guide, otherwise your visit will have no sense. All the papers, documents, etc. are of course in Russian, so the audioguide gives you a good explanation. Entrance is 10... More
