More than 130,000 men, women, and children were murdered here by the Nazis and their sympathizers from Ukraine and Romania. While Ukraine is destroying many Russian monuments, the monument at Babi Yar remains one of the most moving I've seen, especially from the side. I...More

Easy to reach at the end on the tube line, set in a nice park, stunning memorials but spend time on your own by the ravine and you will feel the tragedy of history weigh upon you.

The site just would not conveys the tragedy, it mainly a lip service. In projects lack of respect for an historical tragedy. There is a pretty “park” on the sight, and a new highway splits the valley into 2 halves. Very little conveys the tragic...More

Easy access with the metro to Dorohozhychi. Vast and beautiful park that covers the horrors of over 33 000 jews and later also other groups shot and buried here. Good information tablets and several monuments.

Please do not make my mistake and head to Babi Yar without doing research, because there are two sites. I only found the big one with the large statue which only memorialized Ukrainian citizens with no mention of what actually happened here. This is tragic...More

Don’t get me wrong, Kiev is a cool city. People have been super friendly. But after seeing the condition of this site I am disappointed in their lack of contrition and respect for an historical tragedy that scars a nation. Yes there is a pretty...More
