We spent several hours at this complex of churches and caves. Thee are several churches on the main site (I say that because some are obviously cathedral size but I'm not sure if the others are churches or chapels). We decided not to hire a...More

We were bowled over by the number of ecclesiastical buildings; both above and below ground at this location! There is a bell tower which is well worth the climb for the interesting views of the city. The caves were so unique and the fact that...More

I have the impression that in this Lavra, many things are due to tourism. A huge Easter egg, for example, as a disco ball in a sacred place. I think that the monastery is a place for believers and if you come as a tourist,...More

The caves were a real highlight. When the lady gives you a candle when you go in, don't put it on the stand as you will need it to find your way!

Not only historically very interesting but still a very much alive part of Ukraine society as you will notice when strolling around.

There aren't any words that adequately describe just how spectacular this place it. I visited this place 3 times and I'd go back again! Make sure to visit the bell tower; the views of Lavra and the city as marvelous.

I do not remember the price, but it is not expensive. In USD it may be between $3 to $5. The photo ticket is usually around $1 or less.
