Visited here during our day trip in Kiev. Guide explained it's history, the meaning of the different churches within the complex. This helped us surely in getting a better understanding and appreciating the place as there is very little English information.

If you have time to visit only one place, go there. You can see history, good view, cathedral and caves. I recommend to take a guide for caves. Don't miss miniature museum there.

The caves are very interesting and recommended to be visited. You can spend one hour in the caves and another hour in the churches around.
