This is located in nice park overlooking the river. It's a nice place to walk so checking out this monument isn't an inconvenience.

Terrible, that such awful monuments still exist. Nothing to see. must be demolished. No more soviet murderers on monuments

An impressive and large statue of the commander of the front in WW2. Located near to the main entrance to Mariynskiy Park, it is well worth a look. Impressive.

Seems like my previous review with photos will find its place in the Annals of history. As of today, the mosaics with symbols of military merits are gone with no trace from the granite base around General Vatutin’s tomb. Fair to say, the mosaics was vandalized last year. But I doubt it was taken away for reconstruction to be returned... More

General Vatutin monument is worth a glimpse as you wander about Mariyinskiy Park. It’s one of the rare examples of Soviet sculpture that had not been demolished (yet?). Nikolai (Mykola) Fyodorovich Vatutin was the Commander of the 1 Ukrainian Front during the World War II, which in November 1943 freed Kyiv from Nazi occupation.
