Lacking the hubris and tasteless fervor of Russian/Soviet tributes to the Great Patriotic War, this Museum is more subdued and classy while being comprehensive. The memorial to fallen Ukrainian soldiers and captured war booty from the recent Russian invasion provided a touching reminder that tyranny in Europe still exists.

Kind of weird to go to museum that glorifies the Soviets while Russia is conducting a war in Ukraine and killing a lot of Ukranians. I realize that the Soviets really did carry the largest burden of the war against the Nazis, but still it's weird. And a lot of the parts of the museums there are about other wars... More

I have to be honest, I love history and thought I knew a great deal about the "Great Patriotic War." However, my knowledge was based on what I learned in the U.S., without ever having travelled to Europe. Do yourself a favor and talk a walk down to this museum (or a cab ride). Not only is the museum a... More

What's nice about this attraction is that most of the exhibits are outdoors and free. You can meander around the park taking in various soviet military equipment from ww2onwards.Also some nice statues especially the giant mother land statue. Worth visiting

This was a cool spot, large array of tanks/missiles/weaponary etc plus the awesome giant mother of ukraine statue, the museums have huge display of historical war artifacts and pictures however nothing is in english at all so you don't know what a lot of them are about, its great on a sunny day you can stroll at your own pace... A wonderful location for a museum under an iconic statue on the Kiev skyline. The museum is inexpensive and even with very few of the exhibits being translated into English you fill a couple of hours while walking around. There is a cheap cafe where we got 3 drinks and 3 ice creams for less than £2!
