I have been to A LOT of war museums in my life and this has been one of the best. Whilst not every item is translated in English, the wealth of photos, displays, artifacts and Soviet wall sculptures speak volumes on their own. Each room...More

A must see in Kiev. A lot of history and memories. It costs 30UAH pp. If you are interested in history of war this place will be the right choice.

Worth a visit after spending some time at the Lavra... just keep walking a bit and you will see it. Worth the visit, especially during sunny weather. Plan ahead for time, the museum is not open all night and day :)

What an amazing museum! It depicts Russia's experience of World War II from a truly unique perspective. The grand scale of the exhibits ensured that it was not just an education, but a truly emotive experience. Being able to walk through life size exhibits depicting...More

As many previous reviewers have mentioned, there isn't a ton of information in English here. However, there was enough information that we felt like we learned something from our visit. Each of the galleries has an information sheet in English (usually found at the threshold...More

OK so like everyone else there is not much English here(actually pretty much everywhere) but that's not really a problem. The museum is laid out very well and the presentation makes it easy to see what is going on from the first wars to the war...More

A simple but well-maintained museum with english language guide-cards at the beginning of each section. Unlike some museums which seem to glorify war, this museum emphasizes the atrocity of war which, while difficult at times, was worthwhile to experience.

We went here at night, and it was amazing. It is well lit, and the whole thing is outside. You can surely feel the spirit of Ukraine as you pursue though the WWII vehicles, weapons and carvings that lead up to the Motherland. It is...More

One can spend hours here for the entrance fee of 70 cents US. Many bemoan the lack of English signage but an English guide can be hired for $3.50USD. I didn't use a guide, human or audio($1.75USD) but still got a lot from my visit....More

I'm glad I went, but in terms of all the museums I've been to, this one wasn't much of a learning experience as 99% of everything is in Ukrainian - which is fine, of course, but then not very good for tourists, which they want....More

Most of them outside - technique. Smaller War Museum is inside. We were there for about 2-3 hours.

Yes I agree you need 2 to 3 hours, mainly because much of it is outside and spread around and the hill top park it is in and the views it gives are a large part of the visit
