Sava River is one of the symbols of Belgrade. It meets with Danube at the foot of Kalemegdan Fortress. Once you climb the top of the fortress, you can see the meeting point of two rivers. It's a beautiful view, especially on a sunny day. Also, from other parts of the fortress, looking across the river, you can see parts... More

River Sava is the river that once separated Serbia from the Austro-Hungarian Empire. From the bank of River Sava, the Austro-Hungarians launched the attack on Serbia after the Austro-Hungarian prince was assassinated and World War I broke up.

We have climbed up the Fortress and have nice views over Sava River. The place would even be better during sunsets or take a river boat ride there.

The view of the Sava river from the fortress is outstanding. We didn't want to leave and sat a long time just looking and taking in the sight of it.

Access to the river can be quite difficult with motor express ways along its banks however travel up towards Ada Cingular & river becomes much more serene

Sava river meets the Danube river in Belgrade. You can either choose to get close to the river, on one of the beaches (also from the island), or look at how these two rivers meet and flow together, from the fortress. I personally suggest to go on top of the fortress hill and watch it from there, at the sunset.

We were walking around there (with two little children tired after a long walk) and we took a taxi to the city center. He asked for 4000 RSD instead of 400. We were completely ripped off. Walk away from Naxis company (green sign on top). Ask always for receipt, only way of getting money back.

It is a postcard of Belgrade. Very beautiful. The Sava River deserves to be photographed and also stored in memory for its exuberance and natural beauty. If possible, take a meal to your bank. I'ts very interesting.
