Other reviews describe the statue as being covered in graffiti, which isn't the case. Maybe it's cleaned intermittently. There is certainly tagging on the plinth, much like much of Belgrade, which is a shame.

The Republic square is a nice setting. Busy with people. Lots of cafes.

This statue is a monument to Prince Mihailo Obrenović III, Prince of Serbia from 1839 to 1868 with an interruption. The statue is an equestrian sculpture of the prince and the first such in Serbia. The sculpture is in the Neoclassical style. His left has a firm grip on the reins, while his right is extended in the Imperial Roman manner, with an extended index finger symbolically pointing the way forward.

Located in Trg Republic (Republic square) this excellent equine statue on a large plinth base.
The statue is in the middle of the square and is very imposing.
What I didn't like was all the all the graffiti over it (well maybe apart from the Slayer emblem as I'm a big fan of the band) but this was a part of the city scape that I didn't like. If it was standing still, it got tagged. It was a shame such a beautiful and great statue was treated by its population.
A very impressive statue that needs some tender loving care to bring it back to the glory it deserves.

The statue was very beautiful and magnificent. What I didn’t like is how it’s all in graffiti. The whole was in it, but at least statues must be taken care of better.

The setup there reminded me a lot of that small square in Latvia. The statue is beautiful and was perfectly placed in the heart of the small square!

Prince Mihailo Monument is a statue located in the Republic Square (Trg Republike, in Serbian), which is the main square in Belgrade, the main city in Serbia. It is an equestrian statue with the Prince as a horse rider. It is very nice and all the square is very beautiful. Really, it is the place, where a lot of inhabitants of the city meet each others. Also a photo with the statue or the composition between the statue and National Museum is very nice.

This is a lovely statue, located in Republic square.
The statue is usually a meeting place for groups visiting the city and it provides some lovely photo-ops.

Inaccessible at present as the area is fenced off while renovation work is conducted in the surrounding area. The fencing has large spacing and it's possible to place your camera to take an unimpeded photograph. While it is fenced off, the statue is little more than a photo opportunity.

This is the only statue I noted at the Republic Square. The Walking Tours start in front of this Monument.

Located near it are museums, restaurants, shops, etc. Note that there is a lot of constructions going on around this Monument!
