This monument is quite controversial in Romania due to its design and style, but it is a place you need to visit. Revolution Square is where the new Romania was born, and you would be missing out a key part of the city’s history if...More

A monument that would symbolize Romanin people's rebirth after 1989 revolution. Now it's known more for its controversy rather that cultural value.

Going to Bucharest I always visit this interesting monument, which has divided the people for and against. I think it is a product of its own time. The Memorial of Rebirth (Memorialul Renaşterii in Romanian) is a memorial in Bucharest, Romania that commemorates the struggles...More

This monument is one of the ugliest monument I've seen. It's located just in front of the former Communist party building where Romania's dictator gave it's last speech in 1989.

For a monument memorializing those who died fighting to end the communist reign of Nicolae Ceausescu it does not seem to be respected. The monument and the walls with the names of those who died are crumbling and there is graffitii on them.

While walking around old town I found this monument and had to just stand there and try to figure out what was meant by it.

A very interesting monument, yet very simple. Simple terms....looks like a birds nest on a sharp pole and blood coming down one side. One of the most interesting monuments I have seen in Europe. Not sure if I like it or not!

Lucky to be in this area on Easter Sunday. Lots of market stalls and people dressed up in big costumes. Statue is not really worth a lot unless passing.

There are many monuments in Bucharest, but this one is odd and ugly... It is located in in Revolution Square and it is dedicated to the people who died in the Romanian Revolution of 1989. To me, it looks like a bleeding egg... Terrible!..

During our free walking tour of Bucharest, our guide went into great detail, regarding the communist reign and the resulting overthrow of the dictator, Ceausescu. As a result we were very interested in seeing this memorial. When visiting these sites it is best to have...More
