We went to this park on our last day in Bucharest. We'd seen all the classic tourist trail stuff and my other half likes an impressive looking monument so for the last hour of our last day we decided to go for a nice stroll around this site and snap a few pics of the monument to the fallen of... this is another of the many parks in Bucharest;during Communist time it was renamed the Liberty Park;during Communist times,in the 1960's in this park there was built an impressive mausoleum for the Communist leaders;it stands, up until now, nobody dared to demolish it;in fact it is an interesting concept built entirely of black and red marble from Carrara-Italy,which is world famous... The monument is dedicated to the dead communist heroes and you can see some army guys protecting the monument. Here you can find "Arenele Romane" a nice place for concerts, several pubs, a lake where you can rent a boat, several stairs (if you wanna work out). It is a cozy park in Bucharest, close to the center of the... More

We hadn't planned on visiting this Park but I'm glad we did. It's lovely. The Park houses The Mausoleum and Tomb of the unknown solider. It was a lovely sunny day in February and it was great spending time wandering around the park.

The city of Bucharest has different parks, if you have time it should not be miss this park. It is different than others, during our stroll we discovered some monuments around. The best parts I like the most is the fountain area. Visited the city in July was very hot, the fountain was ideally to get close to it for... More

The park is great for outdoor sports. It's a medium size park. Lots alleys go through the park and you really have to see every one of them because each has a characteristic charm. Highly recommend it.

If you are a jogger in Bucharest, then Carol Park is a great place for you. It reminds me a bit about "Rocky" The movie :)

Dominated by the Mausoleum of the "communist heroes", the park lives a new life. Unfortunately most of the statues are in a bad shape...

Far away from the city rush, but close enough to be reached by foot from the city centre. Fantastic views over the palace of the parliament. Good place for some jogging. Usually crowded during weekends. Time to time the Memorial Monument is open to public for free.
