Condemned to demolition during Communism, Lipscani is one of the few area in Bucharest that kept some of its old face. After fall of the Communism, during 90’s, buildings were left this time to neglect up to a pitiful state or even close to collapse....More

The area around Lipscani has many historical sights but at night you run the gauntlet of hassle from sex-club touts on some of the streets. Some good restaurants but prices are twice what you would pay in the rest of the city.

A great cartier to meet and than vote on what to do.. First eat or drink or both. Then comes what then where.. The easiest way can be "follow the leader" who knows what is best where..

This is a typical old town street. Lots of bars, cafes and restaurants but also some rather overpriced souvenir shops selling rather tatty goods. Having said that when in the area, have a stroll through.

There are probably a handful of streets you should know in Bucharest: Victoria, Elizabeth (after the first queen) and Lipscani. This is one of the entrances and main thoroughfares in Old Town.

Definitely need to visit this street, but after dinner - most places are open then. Restaurants with local cuisine, craft beers, many young & smiled people.

An old street in the center of Bucharest, very busy and with many places where you can eat all kind of food.

We've just stayed in Grand Pier hotel, about a ten minute walk from old town but nice and reasonably cheap.
