Peasant Museum or Muzeul Taranului Roman as they call it in Romanain boasts of an interesting collection. Do check out the restaurant too.

I'm giving this 4 stars because TripAdvisor users generally give it this rating, but today, 24 June 2017, it is closed for refurbishment. I'm not sure how long for but don't make a detour to see this place, it's closed!

This was a fantastic museum, really interesting although we couldn't access it all due to renovations. We did go to the restaurant/cafe behind the museum which was also fantastic and some of the best Romanian food we had in Bucharest. Would definitely go back to...More

Currently closed for renovations. We did eat in the restaurant though. Food was fine - we ordered curry which basically tasted like chip shop curry sauce. (Obviously not their speciality). Other meals coming out looked nice though.

When I visit this place some construction work was going on. So, part of museum was open but part was close. However, there is a nice shop inside where people can buy hand made cloth etc

It is close to Victoria square. They have a lot of extra activities, cinema, concerts, book launches, traditional food fairs. The very beautiful building donated especially for the museum includes a restaurant, shop, bookshop, library and a small wooden church from Maramures in the back...More

This museum is probably most appreciated by natives because they would better understand it. However is very well organized, has great historic houses, and lots of charm and character.
