This is a nice, small museum with five floors of documents, clothing, and other items representing the history of Chișinău. Each floor has one small room with artifacts. The best part is the 360 degree view of Chișinău from the outdoor observation deck on the 6th floor. At 10 Moldova Lei (50 US cents) it is worth a visit.

The museum is small and set over a number of floors and documents social history of Chisinau from its founding to the present day. There are one or two interesting old photographs and artefacts but its generally rather confusing. The first floor starts promisingly enough with a couple of labels in English, Moldovan and Russian. These are quite basic such as "women's clothes 19th Century" but on the upper floor they become non-existent and you have to work things out for yourself. Its definitely easier to do this if you can read Russian! The view is quite nice from the top too and probably one of the only rooftop vantage points in the city. Its so cheap you might as well pay a visit - you have nothing really to lose!

Actually the museum was rather weak, lack of explanation and very old style so that the exhbition did not captivate my attention. However I visited mostly for the view of the city from above. It is not the best view I have had in a city but still it is recommended if you have time and need an activity to do in Chisinau.

Great...you've come to Chisinau and want to explore...visit the museum and learn some things about Kishinev (Chisinau). The tariff is 10 lei. None of the displays are in English for you English speakers; however, just viewing the displays is all you need. The displays includes: currency, documents, photos, uniforms, tools, and much, much more. At the top, you have a 360 degree view of Chisinau- see Moldova State University up close and the lake of Park Valea Morilor.

This is an interesting small museum located in an old water tower. The water tower structure itself is quite attractive and there are some nice views out over Chisinau from the top.

The most interesting part of the museum is the building it is in, a watertower. Nice panoramic view of Chisinau on the top. Apart from that there are 3 rooms with various artefacts from the city past : Books, documents, clothes, newspapers clippings, etc. But no explanations about the meaning of the exhibitions.

The museum is housed in an old water tower, which makes for an interesting outside appearance and inside feeling. The views of the city and the surrounding countryside from the top floor are nice. It was also a nice walk to / from the tower, as my walking route took me through the surrounding neighborhoods. There is an elevator, but not all the way to the 7th floor where the outside balcony is located. There are perhaps 100 or so steps to the top. Each floor has a small exhibit, with pictures and articles, but no explanations in English that I could find.
