Maybe 100 years ago it was a marvel dedign and construction.
But today it's falling apart.
The platforms are still low ones.
I practically ran off the station in 10 mins, despite planning an hour for visit.

We used this station when arriving from Ljubljana and leaving for Split. It’s a big station with 7 platforms. Figuring out where to get your train is straightforward as there’s a huge departures display. The station has plenty of facilities including toilets, lockers, cafes and fast food restaurants.
As for the building, it was built to a Neoclassical design, with a monumental sized facade. The ground floor is about 50 metres long with arcade style windows. The upper floor has a quad style peristyle of Composite columns, supporting a pediment with sculptures of the Olympians.

It's a functional train station with friendly staff, but aside from that you'll find it a challenge navigating the station as a tourist as most signs are not in English. Be prepared to carry your luggage down and up stairs as well, as the station has no escalators/elevators.
Station's condition can also be further improved as it's not really clean and the roofs leak when raining. Doesn't really live up to its namesake as Zagreb's main train station.

This is the main railway station of Zagreb that was built in the late 1800's, the building is 186.5 m's long, quite architecturally beautiful.

It's a functional train station with friendly staff. Basic amenities with cafe, bakery and store selling basic needs. The taxi and trams is conveniently located just in front.

Located right next to our hotel, The Esplanade Zagreb Hotel, this is a really cool building on itself. The fact that it serves as a train station is pretty cool, and reminded us a lot at the one in Amsterdam.

This is just an average railway station which is somewhat dirty and rundown and not much to see. However.........if you are a James Bond fan you must visit it if in Zagreb because a scene from the movie From Russia With Love was filmed here with Sean Connery.

From the outside the building is very interesting and I think it is quite old. The city's central railway station is housed here. There is nothing interesting inside unless you are a train buff.

I have a question about Zagreb Glavni Kolodvor please. We will be arriving from Split at 8.50pm and only have 32 minutes (assuming our train from Split is on time!) to make our connection for the night train to Munich. Is the station difficult to navigate? I can't seem to find a plan of how the platforms are set out so I'm a bit anxious that we will be pushed for time.
Thank you in advance

No problems to navigate but if your train arrives other than Platform 1 and your train leaves other than platform 1 you will need to use stairs. But I would be surprised if your train both arrive and depart platform 1.

Hello,
Does anybody know if this train station has baggage lockers for tourists to store suitcases in whilst sightseeing for just one day? Also, any info on the cost and dimensions would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks, Ben.
