Moving from the station towards the city centre, we come across this glittering Art Nouveau building inaugurated in 1898 and which over the years has become a cultural institution as a venue for important exhibitions of modern and contemporary art. I was enchanted by the spectacular glass and wrought iron dome.

Founded in 1898, it is located in the lower city and is the only gallery that hosts large-scale exhibitions, it was built specifically for this. The bright yellow color of the facades and its majesty attract the attention of passers-by. On the facade you can admire sculptures and busts of Croatian and European masters.

I read that it was first seen in Budapest at an expo and was brought here after. The metal sub frame was first shipped and then constructed it to look the same as the original. This building is gorgeous, magnificent, and just plain beautiful.

The area is surrounded by gardens with park benches. It was raining when we visited, but I would have enjoyed some down time to people watch. It was a busy area with the train station at the other end.

One of the major important building throughout Zagreb is Art Pavilion .
The oldest exhibition gallery of it's type in Southeast Europe and constructed in 1898 ,the building that separates Zrinjevac Park and King Tomislav Square ,it's such a wonderful looking building clearly influenced by the architecture of the once mighty Austro- Hungarian Empire ,it's a building to most definitely check out if you're in the area and easy to locate on Trg Kralja Tomislava.

The building looks amazing from outside. I really wonder how it looks inside but it is a shame that it is temporarily closed.

This buidling was so nice. Of course I dont go inside it because if its to much details that i forgot before I go out of building.

Collection of art is not my biggest interest but architecture and look of buildings are fasinaiting me a lot. Sorry for not perfect english hopefully you understand.

Located on King Tomislav Square and was finished in 1898.

Designet by hungarian Floris Korb and Kalman Kiergl.

It is the oldest collection of art in southern Europe.

I could hold my eyes from the building. Was here three times for taking photo.

Its size of 66 m2.

We walked by the pavilion a few times on our trip to Zagreb, and loved the architectural design, as well as the area surrounding it.

This art gallery was built in 1898 and the pavilion serves as a center for artisitci and cultural life in Zagreb. It is the oldest gallery in Southeast Europe. Virtually every important exhibition in Zagreb has been sited there during the building's 120 year existence. The pavilion is situated between Zrinjevac Park and King Tomislav Square, both of which had beautiful floral displays and statuary.

We were priviledged to attend an outdoor councert held on a stage behind the building.

Due to time constraints I could not go inside the pavilion. Interior is marvelous with a very beautiful garden outside and it is must see attraction in Zagreb. Hardly 10 minutes walk from the main square near to the Zagreb Main Train station.

Nice architectural building just outside Glavni Kolodvar of Zagreb. The building hosts art shows and nice place to visit if you are interested. In evenings, music shows are held to entertain public.

I was here 2 times on exhibition, can`t remember which artist displayed their work, but the thing that I loved, was the interior design of Pavilion. I genuinely admire the artist and architect which made it.

The beautiful building is bordered by King Tomislav Park at one end. The building is decorated with the busts of Croatian and foreign artists (Michelangelo, Rafael, Titian). On a sunny day you can make some memorable photos. In addition, in the park behind the Art Pavilion I discovered, I say, the most beautiful fountain in Zagreb. For those who want to visit the indoor exhibitions, a ticket costs 60 kuna (about 8 euros). However, it is worth visiting the Art Pavilion - the oldest gallery in South East Europe.
