Large public square in the lower town near train station and tram hub.

Some nice greenery to park area and places to sit down and relax and have a coffee.

Not much more to do or see so wouldn’t say it’s a must see square.

This was a large square opposite the main railway station in the lower town of Zagreb.
It was a hub of activity at its lower end as this was where the tram stop was.
It had a large paved area with the statue of King Tomislav on his horse and a green area behind it.
There was a police car parked beside the monument at most times of the day as well.
It wasn't the most exciting square we had been to.

This square is one of multiple that form the "green horseshoe" of parks and buildings in the Lower Town of Zagreb. We stopped by as part of a city tour bike ride and learned a little about the history of King Tomislav and the city. It was a nice stopping point, with a pretty square and lots of green.

Our walk continued along the King Tomislav square. The guy that you see on the horse is King Tomislav, the first king of Croatia who reigned from 918 to 928.

The square marks the beginning or the end (depends which was one is headed) of a vast green area in the shape of a U that is known as the Lower City of Zagreb, where one can find the Botanical Garden, museums, squares, parks, theaters, galleries and other monuments. The square is next to the famous Hotel Esplanade.

This park, crowned by the statue of King Tomislav and in front of the beautiful building of the Terminal Train Station, is an entertaining walk to do to get to know this part of the city. There are plenty of green spaces with park benches on one side and imposing buildings (with characteristics of those of the Austro-Hungarian Empire) that today serve as luxurious homes, official offices and museums, on the other side.

And it is free, and still enjoyable even though it was raining during our visit.

This square is named for King Tomislav, who is considered the founder of a mediaeval Croatian state. Not content with naming this square after the king, there is also an equestrian statue of the man in this square as well. The square is surrounded by beautiful Renaissance, Baroque and Neoclassical architecture. A postcard perfect place in Zagreb.

My twin brother Stephen and I were staying in Hotel Central so King Tomislav Square was only a few minutes walk away.
This is a lovely square flanked on all sides by really impressive buildings none more so than the Art Pavilion in the centre of the square ,there's a large park area complete with a wonderful looking fountain ( Fontana Kralja Tomislava ) and of course you have the wonderful King Tomislav Statue dominating the square ,all around are great cafe bars, pubs and restaurants and it's a major tourist hub with both a big tram junction here and Zagreb Main Train Station located on the square ,I expected the weather to be in the minus when we visited in February but it was about 16 degrees plus ,shorts and short sleeve shirt weather which I never brought with me unfortunately ,I loved visiting this square and enjoying iced cold beers sat outside the many bars on and near this square ,most definitely well worth checking out if you're planning a trip to Zagreb.

Well there is nothing really that special about the square. It is big and it has a nice sight. That’s all. Above all there is reconstruction.

Beautiful square for watching people coming and going. While we were there the ice rink was set up and Christmas stalls - just lovely!

The central square. Always busy and one of the main areas for boarding the trams. Good for people watching.

Nice park and square to walk around in and see. There was a nice fountain in it. Just nice time to relax read a book or listen to the various sounds around the city that were going through.
