Our walking tour took us to this historical site. The only remaining gates of the city combined with a story of a religious miracle. History of a devastating fire which destroyed everything in its path yet didn't destroy a painting of the Virgin Mary only...More

Before I could take picture of this attraction, a nun and her assistant decided to change the altar cloth. They took their time doing it and instead of getting out of the way after finishing their task, they stayed longer and had their conversation in...More

This is a most unusual place that offers a historic and also spiritual space in the city centre. It is interesting seeing the devotion of citizens and memorials to the dead.

On a walking tour our guide took us here. Basically you're walking down a street that make a 90 degree turn, and in that covered turn they setup a church. You can even light a candle (for a small fee). I understand this was the...More

This lovely and unique chapel is inside the fortified old town gate. You walk through it to get in. The portrait of the Madonna survived the great fie in the early 1730's and became te patron saint.
