We went by ourselves by a rented car. As we went to the top hill, we recommend a 4x4, but if you are going only to the normal path, a normal car is ok. Great views.

Nice trip - we did 2 hours here which was a nice way to get out of the city and enjoy a different view.

Till now I didn't know that Bulgaria has so much to offer. What a beautiful nature! There is an amazing view of the city and you drive through beautiful and authentic villages. Definitely worth seeing.

If you're interested in skiing, then go in winter. Otherwise, it's best to go in summer or early autumn

As far as I remember cable car to Mt. Vitosha doesn't run on weekdays, only on weekends. I myself went by bus (fare of a regular bus, 1.60 leva) from Vitosha metro station, on a Sunday.
